We got to go on a date night and this is where I chose because we wanted something different. It was busy. Always a good sign. We got seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and very nice. We ordered Ashaka with beef. It was a little bland but good. I had a salad and my husband had the... More

We have been coming to Kabuls for years and look forward to meals that are fresh, well seasoned, and always satisfying. Staff are friendly and helpful and we have never been disappointed!

Most restaurants at this end of State Street tend to be a little bland and cater to the campus crowd. Kabul is the exception. It has become our little go-to place for dates and dinner with friends. The service is excellent and our food is always delicious. It is also generally more affordable than many restaurants around the capitol area... More

I ordered the lamb sabsi chalow which has creamed spinach, lamb, onions and garlic with white rice. The lamb was beautifully cooked, soft and tender, but the dish was very, very bland. I asked for something sweet to add to it and they brought me some salad dressing with some apple in it. That extra sweetness really added to the... More

I'm not sure why this restaurant has a Certificate of Excellence since the food is mediocre at best, the prices are high and the service is not good. I went with a friend the other day for dinner. We were there at around 8:30 pm and felt constantly as if we were not welcome and they wanted to close up... More

My husband and I stopped here while waiting for my son to finish a class at UWM. We both ordered the stuffed chicken breast with the house soup, and everything was excellent. We brought some of the chicken home as leftovers, and my son ate it cold and asked me to try to make the dish at home. I will... More

Great lunch and good quality food. We had kabobs ( chicken and lamb) and my daughter had salmon. All was perfectly cooked and served fast, comes with soup or salad and warm bread. Had nice coffee and baklava for dessert.Would definitely stop again. Service also was very good.

Our family of 4 arrived around 2 pm on a Saturday. They seemed to be understaffed, with 2 wait staff running back and forth and doing their best to keep up. I ordered a mixed drink from the bar and it was a bit weak. We ordered 4 different menu items; the lamb curry was the best of the dishes.... More

We would dine here years ago when I was in grad school at UW, and even ate here to celebrate my graduation. So I was excited to see Kabul was still around, and we decided to bring our UW student here when we brought him back to school. The ambiance is rather romantic with candles providing most of the light.... More

Spent 2 years in Afghanistan so....just saying. I think this is pretty average, it was kind of missing some punch. We had the hummis and egg plant, I don't like egg plant but this was good and the bread not oily like some I've had, and most important, it was fresh. We had a lamb couscous dish and the lamb...
