I love Harvest. The food is locally sourced and the menu changes frequently. The monthly specialty dinners are a real treat, with 5-6 courses all featuring a single ingredient -- such as tomatoes, asparagus, garlic, etc. -- and paired with the perfect wine.

The special dinner took place on a Sunday night when this place is usually closed. The view of the Capitol from the large windows is terrific. It was one seating at 6, and contained several courses, most of which were small which meant we didn't leave stuffed. The focus was on heirloom tomatoes, meaning most of the meal was vegetarian... My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner last night, eating street-side at Harvest. The chef uses local and organic ingredients to deliver quality great tasting food with a menu reflecting the current available greens, etc. My wife had the scallop "small plate" and was very impressed with the scallops ... and she knows scallops ... having them often when... Four of us went to Harvest for dinner after a day of exploring a Madison. The food was as promised, very good, fresh, with terrific accompanying flavored. The service was friendly. The atmosphere is fairly sterile, however, especially in the dining room. They encourage guests to order an appetizer and entree and three in my party did. I chose to... More

Right across from the State Capital on Pinckney Street sits this neat restaurant that utilizes many farm fresh products in their cooking. I had the hanger steak dinner that was to die for; while my wife had a tortellini dish stuffed with ricotta cheese and peas - both providing unique flavors and accompanying fresh vegtable combinations. Carrot cake with lots... More

We attended during Madison's Restaurant Week. We had reservations and arrived on time so we were seated immediately in a back room (the best part of this place is seeing the activity on the street but that would not be so for us this night). The service was exceedingly slow and the waiter mumbled so most of what he said... More

Our first stop for Restaurant Week. Overall I like this place and will return. The ambience is nice. I especially like the lamps in the restaurant. Settings were closer inside than outside. If the weather is cool, sit outside. First course was heirloom tomatoes gazpacho for me and white bean salad for my dining partner. I love the gazpacho. It... More

We stumbled upon this gem while visiting Madison with friends. It was a lovely evening so we sat outside, with an up-close view of the stunning state capital building. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. Service throughout our meal was excellent. The day's menu was innovative but not pretentious, emphasizing local, fresh ingredients and offering enough choices for everyone.... More

This is well rated and they can serve both regular diners and large groups. Not sure why they get high ratings. Nothings special. Chicken better than other options. Good service. prices good compared to Chicago, but not that a bargain here.

Expecting nothing coming here is probably your best bet. I could hardly even find the place given their sign was only on the door and tiny. It is a "courses" menu. So you choose through the menu in the different course options. I got The tiny salad. The chicken, must have been steamed or something. And then the ice cream,... More
