For my taste both the steamed dumplings and the stir fried vegetables were over salted. For Chinese food the combination of vegetables was a bit odd but probably based on what's available in Wisconsin. The place is pleasantly minimal in decor and quite busy at lunch time. Mother's w children, business people and shoppers seem to be the clientele.

I never thought of having Dim Sum outside a restaurant for Dim Sum... but the dumpling haus has it locked! You can choose from an amazing menu. They also offer beer and wine. You order at the front and then the food is delivered as it is ready, not always "together". Very Good Eats.

I was excited about trying Dumpling Haus and drove over an hour to try it out. I had the Haus Jiao Zi and a solids of shrimp fried rice. The dumplings were good but I thought a bit too much ginger and the filling seemed very compacted like it was overworked when mixed. The fried rice was okay but certainly... More

The family was feeling under the weather and we all wanted some traditional Asian soups and noodle bowls to soothe our throats! Man did this place deliver. Tasty food at a great price, sure hit the spot. Did I mention this was in Wisconsin?

We had time only for a quick lunch so we stopped in here as it was close to the hospital. We basically ordered as quickly as we could, so we didn't peruse the whole menu. Fried pork dumplings and chicken fried rice is what popped out so that is what we ordered. The dumplings were well executed. No heavy dough... More

I've been to Dumpling Haus numerous times as it's near my office. I've enjoyed everything I've tried. I only wish they had some kind of nice little side salad (marinated sprouts, cuke salad, etc) to round out your meal. If you order only dumplings, you may feel like you want a little more 'something' but if you order two selections,... More

Our noodle bowls and dumplings were sooo good. It was kind of hidden so it was good they had a chalk board sign on the sidewalk. It was very busy and we didn't know what to do at first but the person taking orders was very helpful. All of our food was delicious. We finished off the meal with custard... More

I was skeptical when my mom suggested an Asian restaurant inside Hilldale Mall, but I was pleasantly surprised. Dumpling Haus is a casual restaurant but the food is far from. The quality is a huge step up from standard Chinese takeout, which also means you'll pay a bit more. As one man wrote in his review, no one brought water... More

I was hoping for more of a dim sum experience, but pretty much all boiled dumplings, taste and texture pretty much all the same...had the shrimp, soup dumplings and one of the pork ones which tasted just like the soup one. The peanut noodles were the highlight. Loved the texture of the noodles.

Visited this place about 3 times during our stay in Madison. My wife loves soups and this place offers great selection in noodle soups. Ambiance is good and restaurant has an open kitchen, which is nice. We tried all the dumplings and soup and liked everything we ordered. It may not be the best Chinese food I have eaten, but...
