Palette is located right in Hotel Indigo. Due to a work trip I stayed at the hotel for several days. I am a home body so I got room service each evening. The room service is beyond expectations. The meal came right away. In addition...the chef and folks that prepared it could not have done a better job! My meals were exceptional. I especially liked the top sirloin dinner, lettuce wedge and loaded backed potato. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. You will not go wrong with this. The staff that delivered were very courteous and respectful. The management of Palette impressed me as well. I had the pleasure to meet the manager and he went above and beyond. Thanks to the chef and folks that work at Palette!More

On a snowy night, it took us a little looking to find the restaurant as I did not realize it was connected to Hotel Indigo. Very trendy restaurant, great vibe. Had the Mushroom appetizer - it was so different than any mushroom appetizer we had...had in the past. Three out of the group had the seared salmon and they didn't put their forks down until it was gone. Grilled chicken was presented beautifully and was tasty. The vegetables underneath it was a uniquely prepared - very different way to eat steamed veggies. Save room for dessert - the brownie was a perfect end to the meal.More

Made reservations before I realized the restaurant had opened just months earlier and was located adjacent to Hotel Indigo in the old Mautz paint building. Very cool atmosphere throughout. We were seated next to the open kitchen and server center and watched the entire crew...react with calm and urgency to the constantly full restaurant. Our server was new and was being helped by a manager, which was appreciated. The menu is a nice combination of starters, soups and salads, entrees and sides. My husband had a burger ($19) that he loved and I had the Roast Chicken ($21) which was also good. I'd definitely eat here again when in the area.More

A classy place to catch a cocktail and dinner. The building was nicely renovated and is very inviting. The Georgia O'Keeffe theme is a tribute to the great American artist. A fully stock bar with creative cocktails and craft beers. Food menu with satisfying appetizers...and entrees.More

We only had time for breakfast, and it was wonderful. That menu and those for lunch and dinner include a selection of locally sourced produce (some from the weekend farmers' market just a few blocks away). Service was attentive, personable, and professional.

We were in Madison for a University of WI football weekend and I tried to book a favorite steakhouse but it was full. The reviews for Palette were good so we decided to try it. The restaurant is connected to Hotel Indigo and has very...modern decor. The wait staff is plentiful and hardworking. We both had salads (generous portions and very good), we had tenderloin steaks (cut like butter and delicious) and I had veggies and my husband had the signature fries (huge mug of hand cut dipped in Parmesan and drizzled with evoo--the best ever). The cocktails were a bit disappointing but everything else was wonderful. I am glad the other restaurant was too busy to take us as we had a great dining experience and will be back to Palette when we return to Madison.More

Stopped in for a late dinner on Saturday night with my woofs and daughter. Didn’t research anything about the food until we arrived and found that it’s emphasis is a steakhouse which was fine. Had a 23 oz Bone in Rib eye that was cooked...to perfection with mushroom demiglace. My wife had the flatiron which was superb as well and my daughter had the lobster Mac and cheese which was creamy and hot. Asked for outside seating which is on a busy avenue so might be a little loud for some. Service was outstanding and loved valet parking.it is a newer hotel that’s chic and city accessible.More

They did a great job creating this space. Nice atmosphere and creative decor. The food is fancy so expect high prices and small portions. I had the mahi mahi and it was fine but I've had cheaper and better. My husband had top sirloin and...it was again, fine. The drinks have zero alcohol. I usually stop myself after 2 mixed cocktails because I'm starting to feel tipsy but that didn't happen here. 3 drinks in and perfectly fine. Stick to wine and beer. Servers are very young college students and rookies so be kind as they learn.More

The service was perfect - they do like it if you settle the tab in the bar before dinner, but not necessary. Our server was absolutely fantastic and well versed in the culinary arts even though he was under 21! Unique items like peas and...cheddar (like mac and cheese only better)More
