This is a wonderful special event place. The ambience is nice. Was surprised at how many shrimp you get with the 4 oz filet medallions. I would order that again as 2 medallions really filled me up. What was shocking was how little you get...in the “family style” side dishes. We ordered the asparagus and mashed potatoes. With a table of 4 people we each got 2 stalks of asparagus at the most. Possibly 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes each. No wonder it was delivered to the table with a napkin covering it. Highly rate the ahi appetizer and you did have enough to share with the table with that order. It was under the chef recommendation side of the menu. If they can improve the quantity of the sides, or at least stop calling them family style, I’d give this place 5 stars.More

We dined at Ruth's Chris last Monday to celebrate a birthday - we sat in the bar as the dining room was empty - booths very cramped and SO incredibly dark I had to use the flashlight on my phone to see the menu -...we didn't particularly care about the Bar specials but were asked several times to " put our order in " as it had to be before 7pm - our fourth guest showed up just before 7 and we did order the tuna special. Our server rushed us to put in an order so we did - she took my wine glass before I was finished with it and even though we told her we did not want to be rushed our food arrived before we were finished with our salads. The tuna and the calamari were good - the steaks were terrible - not good quality at all and certainly not worth the money - the asparagus was woody and disgusting.. All in all, way past it's prime .....More

My siblings sent my parents there for their 60th wedding anniversary. The staff was wonderful but the meal not so much. My mother ordered sea bass which was served after my father had already eaten half his steak, and the sea bass was mushy and...inedible. My parents are not picky or uppity so for my mom to send it back was unusual. They did not charge for the fish. They were served lovely deserts with anniversary sentiments, but overall the dining experience and $250 price tag is just not worth it.More

This is always a wonderful experience. My husband and the two sisters in-law, went there to celebrate one of their birthdays. They put us in a private area and they had decorated for her birthday. The food and service are beyond compare. They all loved...it.More

This location, like all others did not fail to deliver. Food was amazing. Service was awesome. The bar was a horseshoe bar and looked fun!

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Madison was great. Our server “Young” was very sweet and a great server. The petite fillet was mouthwatering. It was so tender and seasoned perfect. The shrimp was so tastey. Best steak we have ever had.

Visited our grandson & his wife and wanted to eat somewhere “special” while there. Went to Ruth’s Chris and it really was special. We have always had a favorite place or two around this big country and now we have one in Wisconsin. Everything about...the meal was special. The ambience, the food, and the service. The server took her time to explain a lot of things and answered several questions. We commented to each other that this was the first restaurant we have visited since the pandemic where the whole staff knew how to speak through masks clearly to be understood. Thanks! Each of our meals was prepared and served perfectly from appetizer to dessert. Sad that we have none of this chain close to home. But we will find another one somewhere!More

The petit filet steak was tasty and done to perfection. Lobster mac & cheese also very good. The items are pricey so be prepared for an expensive evening. Delightful raspberry & rosemary cosmo cocktail was truly delicious.

Ruth’s Chris steak House was able to accommodate us for a birthday party with all the strict Covid requirements. They sat is several feet apart at two separate tables and provided us the same excellent waiter ismael. He treated us as one party even though...we were at two tables. The manager Lee, explained all the rules to us and made sure that my aunt’s birthday was celebrated. There was confetti on the table in the complimentary desert Was excellent. The Caesar salad and ribeye with blue cheese crust were exceptional. Our party loved everything from the lobster, fillet, crabcakes, cowboy bone in ribeye to the fabulous crème brûlée and lobster bisque. It was worth the money!More

Not what I expected given the cost. Ribeye steak was bland. BBQ shrimp was undercooked. Fries were greasy and soggy. Lamp chops laced flavor. Fish was salty. Not worth over 400 for 4 people.

My fish was salty. My friends food was salty. Portions were small. Prices were ridiculous. Never again !

Nine of us had dinner. The waiter was really good from the drink order to the bill delivery. The salad was huge and fresh with good taste. The six ounce Filet was cooked just perfect with great flavor and was seared just right. The meat...was Premium grade and the knife just cut through the meat with ease. The mashed potatoes was hot and tasted great. Although not my favorite side dish, the creamy spinach was good, and hot. We did not get to pick the dessert and had the bread pudding which served warm. Good taste, above average. For special occasions this is our favorite place to eat. We have not dined here in 2 years and the food was above average, excellent service, good drinks and a great atmosphere. If your tight on money, go on Wednesday night and take advantage of the coupon in the newspaper. There was a little delay between the salads and the main meal but that was really not an issue. Highly recommended and amoung the top; 3 restaurants in the greater Madison area.More
