This is a Madison institution and gets very crowded on weekends. Its popularity is well deserved. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient and the service is quick. The prices are most reasonable. Standard egg breakfasts are great with large portions and good potatoes. I recommend...this place.More

My favorite cafe in Madison. I only go to Madison once a year but I always make it a point to stop at Mickies Dairy Bar for breakfast. I always know I'll walk away with awesome leftovers. I loooove it!

Came up for a game one weekend, needed a big meal before our drive home. We were told this place is a staple in Madison, and IT IS TRUE. You must go here for breakfast. Looks like a 50's hamburger and shake joint, but not...a new one made to look like the 50's, like I think the decor is still from the 50's. I liked it..not a fancy pants here...but let me tell you the real reason you need to go here..the breakfast..The Skillet is AMAZING...with all capitol letters. Big portions, with brown gravy...yes gravy..get the gravy on the skillet...only $10.00 trust me you can feed two people with this portion. Hands down my favorite breakfast in MadisonMore

We stop at Mickie's every time we visit Madison, and it's become a tradition. Note: expect a wait. Even on a Weds morning. But it's worth it! The food is delicious - straight up homestyle, and you will get gigantic portions. It's very reasonably priced...as well. Recommend trying the French toast and order a side of bacon with it. It's the best bacon you'll ever order! Mickie's is too legit to quit!More

Could not get over the size of the Scrambler! My husband and I got that along with a blueberry pancake and we didn't even finish it all! The blueberry pancake was to die for delicious! It's a greasy diner, and we love every part of...it! Great staff, fun environment.More

This by far is the most amazing breakfast/lunch spot I have ever been to. If you want food and lots of it this is the place to go. There is virtually no way you can finish the 'scrambler' and walk out. The food is great,...the service is friendly and the price is right.More

Mickies Griddle Cakes are a delicious alternative to regular pancakes. Loaded with apples and raisins, they're a special treat! Two large griddle cakes in an order make for plenty of leftovers. When you order a shake, you get more than a glass full, and servers...leave the metal mixing tumbler at the table for you to top it off as you drink it down. The egg scrambles are delicious as well, if you're looking for a high protein breakfast.More

Going to a game at Camp Randall was on my college football bucket list and in the past, college football analyst Todd Blackledge did his Taste of the Town segment about Mickie's Dairy Bar and The Scrambler breakfast he got. It looked so good on...television so I decided when I would be in Madison to try it. It lived up to my expectations. You got a lot of food and it was very good. Thank you Todd Blackledge.More

Excellent breakfast option when you’re in Madison. Come hungry and bring cash. Mickie’s only accepts cash but provides an ATM right next to cashier. Our family stayed next door and opted to get our Mickie’s visit in on a Sunday morning. We got there about...9 and only waited a slight amount of time to be seated. They Yanks potatoes are excellent. My daughter reported the French toast was bland, but everything else we had - strawberry pancakes for one, blueberry pancakes for another and eggs, toast and corned beef hash for me - was a tasty. Word of advice - go with one pancake over two. They are huge and thick.More

No reservations - I'd arrive earlier than later to get a larger group in.
