My wife and I wanted to try this place and we were very disappointed. I'm from Chicago. Can Wisconsin restaurants please try Chicago pizza and learn how to make a good pizza? Had The Weekender and if dumping large amounts of sauce on top of...the pizza is supposed to make it original, it's not. Large amounts of greasy cheese, I'll just stop. We asked for larger plates to hold the large pieces of pizza and the server told us they didn't have any. I had a Cosmopolitan and it had hardly any alcohol. For a $14 drink it better have ample amounts of alcohol. The service was good. The atmosphere is dark, cold and loud and I guess the perfect place for college kids. We were the oldest people there and we're not that old.More

Weekday night at 7:00 with our two University of Wisconsin granddaughters. Crowded but had made reservation. Sat upstairs. Began with cedar grove cheese curds. Hot and tasty with good sauces. The steel pan standard (cheese and sauce) deep dish pizza. Cut into pieces that were...thick, crusty and tasty. Had not had deep dish pizza in many years. This was very, very good. Only disappointment were the portions of steel pan chocolate chip cookie dessert and new glarus belgian beer. The beer was draft but not served in a mug but rather a small wine glass. Dessert was small and round. But that pizza was great!More

This is such a cute place. The food was really good; we had the wood fired pizza and pork nachos. The drinks were good too. We will definitely go back next time we are in Madison.

Lucille has excellent pizza and salads. Our craft cocktails were great as well. The portions are large. We ate outside which was very nice. I also noticed the tables outside are nicely spread apart (although inside they seemed too close for Covid safety). My only...issue was slow service.More

Well, no joke here about the pizza that “is still pretty good” - this is excellent. Really a culinary experience. And appetizers and cocktails are remarkable as well. We had outdoors seating that came with a great view of the Capitol, but was on a...road construction site. The harsh industrial setting and the traffic were excusable, but the place was also dirty that could have been easily preventable, discarded shopping bags and other items lying around. So I can’t give it 5 starts as close as they got. I assume indoors or even on their patio this could have been a perfect experience.More

Recommended by coworkers of my daughter, who lives in the area. We went for dinner on a Thursday. Sat outside. Our server was very nice, but we waited a bit too long to be checked on when the meal was over. The food was excellent!...We ordered The Weekender and Almyra pizzas and the Bodega Bowl. Looking forward to visiting the area again so I can try more of the menu.More

We stopped early on a week night and the service was very good but the pizza was not. It’s wood fired but the crust is too thick, more like dominos. Not sure if they use type 00 flour. But the price was crazy for the...quality. I would never come back, far too many restaurants in Madison to enjoy.More

This was a great option. Once you walk through the doors, you can look up to the second floor through a portal directly above the main bar. The façade has an industrial feel, as this used to be a bank approximately 100 years ago. They...have the bank vault in the basement to prove it! The basement is not available throughout the week, but can be visited/rented out between Thursday and Saturday nights. The menu offered a variety of pizza options, and while they do have empanadas and spicy wings on the menu, The American fair foods will not disappoint. They did have a great compliment of mixed drinks and beers, so I was satisfied. The service was also fantastic. If you want to have the backdrop of the Capitol (just steps away) and A great experience in downtown Madison, then look no further. I think this is a good option for anyone tjo try, and there is nothing that I experienced that would make me think and/or believe that you would have anything but a fantastic experience.More

Had dinner there and really enjoyed the food but the place is so noisy it was hard to hear anyone at our table. There were six of us. We are not hard of hearing. We are all able-bodied. Couldn’t wait to leave. If the booths...upstairs had higher backs it’s possible that would help. If you’re alone and want to be in the company of others without the need to engage in conversation then this place would be perfect. I doubt if I could be compelled to return.More

We ordered several different pies and shared within our party - this was important as there were too many we wanted to try. However, note the menu is pretty limited so if you are not going for the pie you might want to check the...menu on line in advance. I am a fan of hand tossed, chewy thin style and found the Mediterranean great but to no surprise very salty due to the ample Feta. One in our party felt the crust was burnt - definitely could taste burnt crust but it wasn't because the dough was over cooked. Rather there were burnt/black patches on the bottom of all the pies (except tin pan) from burnt sauce etc on the oven floor where the pies are cooked. Management needs to let the kitchen know this really detracts from what is otherwise are great dish. Overall this place has a great vibe to it, great decor and location and I will return. Hopefully the oven is cleaned up by then.More

I decided to celebrate my birthday here with a few friends and it was the first time coming here. I would highly recommend! We started out downstairs which is an old bank vault and a small bar down there a really neat atmosphere! To find...it just go straight back past the bar and there will be stairs going down, you will find it down there. We put our name in at the front desk when we arrived and it was about an hour wait (make sure you have someone with service or get the WiFi password because there is bad cell service downstair). We then had dinner upstairs and could over see the main bar area, which was nice. The pizza was fantastic! I loved the umami pie and other people loved the weekender. For my birthday they gave me a pan cookie bar enough to share, which was excellent. I really enjoyed this place and location and would come again for a fun spot in downtown madison!More
