We ate here for breakfast before Mesa Verde NP. Great prices and good quantity of food. Server wasn't the friendliest but we had our family and cousins so group was large and talkative. She was ready to get our order done and we took awhile. Right on Main Street going east and west and plenty of parking on street.

The food here was excellent. Portions are above average. It is a true diner. Cash Only!!!! Wife loved the trout, and I loved my hamburger steak. Both meals came with soup included. Our waitress appeared upset that I wanted our drinks before we placed our orders. That is the way I like to lunch. She rebounded nicely.

We grabbed breakfast here on our last day in Cortez....I had French Toast and my Lady ordered a small stack of pancakes. It was bare basic food. And the waitress who served us wasn't very pleasant at all......almost mean which is probably why there weren't too many folks eating there. The menu items seem reasonably priced, but don't expect anyhing... More

Wasn't that impressed when I walked in but great service from a veteran waitress and probably the biggest $8 breakfast I've ever had!

El Grande is not open for dinner but serves breakfast and lunch. They have the typical café selections but the food is really good and portions are generous. Their cinnamon roll is HUGE, 4 people could share one! My favorite is their potato soup and green chili philly special, I think on Thursdays...that potato soup is HEAVEN. Booth seating throughout.... I wonder why this is not much higher on TripAdvisor? It's an old-time diner kind of place on Mainstreet, local, not fancy. Super clean, mostly booths, might be challenging for a big group unless you split up. Our group had eggs, ham, bacon, hashbrowns, toast and wavos rancheros and everybody was very happy with their food. Lots of good unlimited... More

This is an old school, cash only kinda place. Food was fast hot and very good. We loved the breakfast biscuit sandwiches and the hot cakes! No frills but very authentic for our stay in Cortez. Most of the other patrons were all locals that seemed to know each other. A nice home town café.

The place looks like its outdated. The staff not nice. The food looked weird when brought out. I smelled mold and turned my roll over and the bottom was covered with mold. My food had hair on the burger, hair on my fries Place is scary.

Thanks to trip advisor we found this nice restaurant for breakfast before we left town. The couple that runs this nice place were very organized and fast. The food was yummy and hot and fresh. The decor was awesome with old juke boxes and pictures from the past and it was just awesome
