A convient choice for evening meal. Actually the only choice. My chicken was merely ok, and my dining partner had an elk quesida, she was pleased, I could not finish my selection. If you are looking for the sunset you will not find it here. Next trip I will bring my own supper.

if you are staying at Far View Lodge, you will likely have not much choice but to eat her or at the cafeteria down the road. Both are run by Aramark (same concessionaire that runs the cafeterias of many office buildings and boarding schools). Food is in line with offerings at those venues. Specifically, we ordered $11 chicken wings and... More

We were looking for a quick lunch after hiking and then touring the Cliff and Spruce Houses. All of us -- including 4 teens -- found the food good and reasonably priced. Cafeteria style. Tables with a view. And it sure beats driving all the way back to the park entrance, and then back to Cortez for lunch...

This is to my knowledge the only food served in Mesa Verde. Most of it is prepared there. There is a nice assortment from sandwiches to snacks. The view is great ti has tables for two or whole families.

We were not impressed by the downstairs' restaurant, particularly quality/quantity/price/not at all kid friendly, so we tried the Lounge for our next meal. The views were excellent, the food fun, but we did have to work through ingredients (and our kids are not picky, just don't like spicy, but want something more than a hot dog) to find food for... Our first of two nights at Mesa Verde we decided on an affordable, casual meal at the Lounge within walking distance of our room. Due to a full dining area, we sat at the bar, had a drink and ordered two appetizers. We moved to the table within 30 minutes and I reminded the bartender that we were still waiting... More

This might be the best of the alternatives available unless you plan to eat at the more expensive Metate downstairs. We decided to order the BBQ ribs appetizer and salads. The "ribs" were two small pork steaks grilled and brushed with an Asian sauce. Guess we should have known better! A little tough but sauce was good. For dessert we... More

Have been waiting almost 25 years to 're-experience dinner at this lodge with the incredible view of the 4 corners area, including Shiprock, far to the south on the Navajo reservation . To be brief, time required instead a stop at the lounge outdoor balcony. Wanted a quick beer and iced tea. Told we could wait a little since no... More

Summary based on 1 dinner: --ate here as an alternative to the pricey Metate Room restaurant downstairs at Far View Lodge --ok food, suitable for a dinner --good service --somewhat pricey, but not nearly as bad as the Metate Room --relatively quiet for a bar/lounge Recommended.

Warm atmosphere with a view of the park. Far view is just that..."a far view"...not something spectacular with mountains, but a view that goes on and on...nice place for a cocktail with a friend or solo!
