We nearly had a vacation disaster...with a purse left behind with cash, credit card, keys, etc... and not realizing it until far down the road...a call to the shop, and Deidre said that it had been found and she would overnight it to us! That's great service!!! And the coffee, pastries, and morning porch sitting were fantastic too!

We were recommended the Spruce Tree if we were passing through Cortez. As it happened we were passing through there about the time we felt in need of a coffee break. The Spruce Tree is a quirky little place although actually bigger than it first looks. There are several other rooms tucked away from the main room/counter which are not... More

My husband and I had breakfast at Spruce Tree Espresso House recently. This was my husband's second visit. He loves their cappuccino and says it's one of the best he ever had. I tried a chai latte, and it was also good. This time we had their cinnamon rolls, which were quite good. My husband previously tried an egg sandwich,... More

Stayed overnight and found this little gem for coffee and breakfast. The coffee and tea was excellent, breakfast...ok. A little slim on the portions and some items not so "fresh". Would go again if passing through Cortez.

Funky little place on Main Street with great coffee and generous bagel sandwiches. Attentive help and convivial patrons.

If you prefer a latte or other espresso drink from a place where you can sit and enjoy it (i.e. not the Starbucks counter in the grocery store), this is the place. In an old house on Main street between a marijuana dispensary and a Mexican restaurant, this place is a pleasant stop where all the locals go for their... More

Outstanding little coffee shop! We stopped for breakfast on our way through Cortez and had a wonderful breakfast. The bagels and veggies were fresh and crisp, and even a pleasure to look at! The coffee was delicious and they even offered sugar substitute for us (Stevia). We love that. Excellent and personable service and the shop owner was very welcoming... More

No waffles or french toasts, mostly eggs, baggles and some mexican food breakfast products. We did order muffins but they were frozen inside... The coffee was very good. Service was good.

We only stopped for coffee, but their menu looked extensive and yummy! It is in an old house, so rather quirky but cute. There is free WiFi

Spruce Tree is in an old, somewhat beat up old house. The furniture looks like it was bought from a warehouse for failed restaurant equipment. The espresso machine and everything else is noisy. But the food was good, though quite limited in variety. I had tea and no matter how good coffee or tea is, drinking out of a cardboard... More

The Spruce Tree was built in the 40's. Part of the reason I bought the building three years ago was the charm of an old house. Two years ago we completely remodeled, purchasing a brand new Espresso Machine, tables and chairs, new paint etc. It is hard for a business to absorb these kinds of costs but it proved worth...
