This was the third time I’ve eaten at Rolando’s. It has become my favorite place to eat at while driving thru Hot Springs. Great food presentation and the flavors are delicious.
We visited on a very busy night in town, although the restaurant was only about 1/3 full. The service was good but not great, and the menu offerings looked interesting. However, the food was not as exciting as it looked on paper. Some of our...meals were dry, as if they had spent a bit too much time under the heat lamp. Our group of 6 enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Rolando's. We did not have a reservation but were seated quickly. We had a very attentive waiter. We ordered a variety of entrees and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The portions were generous.
I ordered the pork quesadilla with a Miller lite ($4.50). The food presentation was absolutely beautiful, but the pork was kind of dry and had no flavor at all. It was very disappointing. As for the salsa, also disappointing. I normally like black beans and...corn in my salsa, but this too was quite boring. Finally, the biggest disappointment was the chips. They were cold, not warm like one could expect :-(More
We had a late lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed the flavored margaritas and lunch plates. Service was so-so but the food was delicious.
We ate there twice during our stay in Hot Springs because they have a shady, dog friendly patio. The service and food were great, and the setting was lovely.
So for ambiance the outdoor seating was beautiful, however the pavers are so uneven - you can’t properly sit flat and the uneven floors make it a little difficult to even be sure footed. The salsa and cheese dip both kinda of tasted sweet -...it was weird. No spice at all. The suiza enchiladas were pretty good, but could have been split between 3 people. Overall - I have to say, I’m not quite sure why so many great reviews.More
Food and service was excellent, Ecuadorian style Mexican food. There was 4 of us and 3 did not want to try something different, I talked them into and everyone was glad they did. Very good process. Definitely worth eating dinner there!
Rolando’s was wonderful. We had a large group that sat outside on the back patio. It was such a lovely atmosphere. The food was spectacular. The service was good. Took a long time to get our check. The drink I had— orange juice, cranberry and...Sierra Mist!!! No alcohol. It Was off the charts.More
If you want your chicken to taste like fish come here! This is an example cross contamination and thank goodness no one had a fish allergy. The salsa was fair at best and queso was not even fair. We had 3 different dishes, chicken enchiladas,...EL Plato Cubano, and kids quesidillas, all fair or less and for the price, not worth it. Friendly staff, was the beat part of the meal. This has become our favorite restaurant in Hot Springs. And that is saying a lot because there are many many very good restaurants in Hot Springs. They are pet friendly with the back porch area. 2022...Disappointed. this is no longer a high-end Ecuadorian menu like it was in 2021. We gave great reviews all 22 of us in 2021... the food was amazing the presentation was spectacular. Who did they hire as their chef in 2022? Should I have just...gone to Taco Bell? Ecuadorian might as well call it a Mexican restaurant. The food was terrible.
