We popped in to Rolando's by chance, and were happy we found it! We thought they were Mexican focused with entrees like enchiladas and burritos, but were intrigued by the Cuban, Argentinian and Ecuadorean influences. We are from Texas and are used to run of the mill tex mex plates. Rolando's blew us away! We ordered the Plato Cubano and Pollo Bohemios, and were floored by the beautiful presentations, generous servings and fresh flavors of lemon and parsley. Delicious and unidue food! Pickled onion and cucumber garnishes sealed the deal. Great service too, even got to chat with the chef. Do not miss this place!

We had visited the Rolando's in Fort Smith and decided to try the Hot Springs location. Our server fixed problems with our table right away. We asked about potion sizes and the menu and he helped us select the best options for our dinning. We recommend ordering the meal versions without the rice and beans since they don't add much to the overall dish. The food was excellent. The chicken was good but the pork was better. The table salsa is very sweet compared to other Hispanic offerings. If this review helped please click the like button.

In general, we were pleased with our lunch at Rolandos. The entrees were generous and well seasoned. I had the Bohemian Shrimp and my husband had the Atkins Diet which featured meat and cheese. (Definitely not low calorie!). Our server, Cole, was attentive and friendly. He explained the options for lunch and was quick to refill my iced tea. My only disappointment was the rum cake. It was served warm with whip cream on the side, but it was not very moist or flavorful and a small portion.

Although the food looked beautiful(tasted alright), the service was not! From the moment we walked in, our waiter was not interested in what we wanted to eat- only in getting us said and done. While we were there a very large party came in. And, then left- without ordering. One of the waiters did nothing for the remainder of our time except gripe and complain about the party. Finally, we had left something behind and when we called to inquire about our missing item, yet another waiter was very impatient and rude- bothered. We will definitely not return!

Hostess/waitress seemed bored to have to seat me at a table away from the front door. The food I ordered was suppose to be Cuban style (it was just bland chicken breasts). And the rice was dry...(not many black beans were served). Just not a great meal. I was shocked that the restaurant had a 5 star rating. There were only about 3 tables of customers. The actual surroundings were nothing much either.

We made reservations a d thought that secured our table, but a table had not been reserved for us. We did get to experience the patio area but it was so dirty. Thankfully I had something in my purse to clean the table clear of the food stuck in the tabletop. We waited a pretty good length of time before a server waited on us, but it was also busy. The two cocktails I ordered didn’t have any evidence of any alcohol, so drinks were way overpriced for what I was expecting. I paid for expensive fruit juice. While the food was very nicely presented it was not what I had expected considering all of the positive reviews I had read. Sadly, we did not experience what I thought was going to be a great dinner. I personally will not recommend this restaurant for a couple who are hoping to have a nice dinner with good drinks and great food. But if dining on a mountainside patio is what you are mostly interested in, then it’s as good as you’ll probably get.

This was our third visit to Rolando's. We were quickly seated. But I think they were a bit short of wait-people; the wait for requested water, etc. seemed long. The appetizer fired cheese with chorizo was delicious as usual, but lacking in chorizo. We will return to Rolando's.

If you’re looking for an outdoor patio to eat, this is a nice one. We liked the salsa the best. We kept wanting each course after to get better, but unfortunately it didn’t. The queso was one clump of rubbery cheese as it cooled off. The tortilla soup was watered down. The enchiladas seemed to be served on crumbly/stale flour tortillas and with the same rubbery cheese on top. The service was good though. It was disappointing that we made reservations for 7pm and told that there would be outside entertainment, but once seated the entertainer packed up and was done a few minutes later.

Authentic South American food (not the typical Tex-Mex that everyone else claims is SA). An explosion of incredible flavors and combinations of flavors that most have never had the pleasure of sampling. Everything is wonderful!!! Two recommendations; 1) if the weather is nice be sure to request sitting in the upstairs outside section. A nice shaded area and often they have live music. 2) you must try Rolando’s banana desert. One serving is plenty for a couple to share. Try it and thank me later.

Visiting Hot Springs, Rolando’s was a fun looking place on the Central Ave strip. In our experience, the margaritas were so sweet it was hard to drink, the food was ok and the service could have been better. I ordered the tilapia tacos and it tasted as though it was leftovers from the day before. The breading on the fish was soggy. My boyfriend had the shrimp fajitas which were better but, but still looked and tasted like leftovers from the day before. The chips that were provided were cold and stale. The queso blanco was the best thing we had. We sat behind a wall so I feel like our waiter forgot about us at times. Rolando’s was not our favorite as out of town people who were looking for a fun local restaurant.

We didn't have a reservation when we arrived and were asked to wait outside whilst they cleared a table. 30 minutes later we were told we could sit down. We were then ignored for a further 30 minutes until we had to jump up and down to get one of the two servers' attention. Our drink order took another 15 minutes to arrive and then we ordered food, which suspiciously took 5 minutes to arrive on the counter. It was left sitting on the counter for over 10 minutes, the chef must have dinged their bell at least 5 times but there were no staff on the floor! The food was cold and not tasty at all. We left as soon as we had finished our drinks. The toilets were disgusting and the corridor leading up to it.

If you want your chicken to taste like fish come here! This is an example cross contamination and thank goodness no one had a fish allergy. The salsa was fair at best and queso was not even fair. We had 3 different dishes, chicken enchiladas, EL Plato Cubano, and kids quesidillas, all fair or less and for the price, not worth it. Friendly staff, was the beat part of the meal. This would not be a place of recommendation.

My wife and I decided to have lunch here First off, as with any Mexican restaurant you normally start with chips and salsa. Our chips were horrible. They were cold and stale. I've had better chips from a bag. They didn't bring any salsa so we asked for some. The waitress said they only serve salsa in the evenings. What? No salsa at lunch? We both ordered chicken fajitas. The chicken had a slimy texture. There's no doubt this was frozen chicken fajita meat. The tortillas were stuck together and hard, the beans were fair. The rice was just plain white rice with nothing on it. It was basically a $13 TV dinner. The best part of our visit was leaving. Lesson learned. We will definitely be sticking with La Hosienda! The food there is amazing!

So glad we decided to give Rolando's a try. We were looking for something a little different and we were not disappointed. We were seated outdoors at our request and were happy to find that it wasn't crowded and not to chilly out. Our server, Tom, was very attentive and it wasn't long before we were enjoying cocktails, chips and salsa. When I couldn't make up my mind, Tom suggested a combination of the Camarones Mojo and the Pescado de Mesias. My husband chose the tamales. Both were spectacular. The shrimp and tilapia were cooked perfectly. The tequila caper sauce on the tilapia was so flavorful that I wanted a jar of it to take home. The tamales were wonderful as well. Thank you to Tom for the fabulous service and his great dinner recommendations. We will be back again to try some of the other menu items.

This is a bit of a hidden gem. We happened upon it quite by accident - word of mouth really. Someone in our hotel elevator mentioned it for the ambiance, and they were right. If you go, ask to sit outside in the back. We felt sorry for folks inside who probably didn’t even know what they were missing. If you go out back, and upstairs, there is a hidden patio built into the rocks, with twinkly lights and live music. The food and drinks were standard fare - margarita a bit watery, rice a bit too sticky, but beans, chips, queso, chicken, all hot and good. The service was with a smile and they were happy to recommend the best dishes.
