If you love German food, this is the place. Great good. Moderate prices. It is hard to find good German food, but this is the place.

This place is a little tricky to find. Do suggest to make a reservation, especially for Friday, Saturday nights and holidays. They have live entertainment! No matter what you select, the food is good. The chicken cordon blu is very good, surprise that I was...able to cut the chicken with ease. Some time, have to work the knife to cut the chicken. The sausage is so good. I do not like brussel sprout, but I will eat it from this placeMore

I ordered an aperol spritz to receive and "apple spritzer" by mistake. I pointed it out as the server mis heard me. No worries, until the owner said, "if it were my fat lips that got in way, I wouldn't have said anything." I asked...for the manager not knowing the owner had the audacity to treat people paying her bills that way. He threatened to call the cops when I said I was not responsible for the bill, the owner was due to her rude bullying comments. She then ran my card to pay her bills and proceeded to call me a bitch. NO O E GO HERE. FAKE FOOD AND HORRIBLE PEOPLE.More

Loved the vibe of this place - would have just been better if there was live music. Menu has a huge selection of authentic German style food. Table of 6 were all stuffed and pleased with their selections. The outside seating would allow for some...people watching but the inside has a warm feeling about it as well. Definitely check this one out!More

We spent $170 for a variety of food. We also had the mushroom soup which the waiter recommended. It was very good. BUT the rest was inedible. The cabbage rolls were sent back because they were hard as a rock and tasted horrible. The board...we ordered had a variety of items on it which we could not even eat. All of the meat was hard as a rock. The stuffed mushrooms had meat inside which was so hard you could use to knock someone in the head. The pickled egg was so rubbery that it could not be eaten. Sauerkraut pattie was not bad. My granddaughter got a pretzel which was good. She also got the chicken cordon bleu. It was extremely dry and tough. She also had the spetzel which was tough and rubbery. I can eat just about anything and have. But this food was disgusting. We left the table with pretty much the entirety of what we ordered. My husband and his family are German so we do know what good German food is and this is not it. All of the pictures shown on their site look good. The real food is quite different I promise you.More

Such a beautiful night of amazing food. Started with the sauerkraut cakes, and German beer and cocktails followed by pork shanks with German potato salad and sauerkraut as well as beef stroganoff and potato pancakes, finished with apple strudel and ice cream and a. piece...of German chocolate cake. Simply perfection!More

We got into Hot Springs later in the evening, so after checking in to our hotel, headed directly downtown to look for a meal. Every place we found had a line or had stopped taking reservations for the evening. We came across Steinhaus Keller and...it was open with no line. We were seated immediately and selected the outdoor patio - which was very nice and except for the fan blowing directly at us (which the staff turned off when we requested) was very pleasant. We ordered flights of German beers. My husband ordered the Beef Shank with potato pancakes and brussel sprouts. I ordered the schnitzel with spaetzal and brussel sprouts. The server misunderstood and only brought us one flight of beer. We decided just to share. We loved all the beers! They were each served in a different style tiny glass. Our food was equally good. My husband had to help me finish mine. We ate every bite and went away stuffed! Our server was very nice and gave us her recommendations of things to do while in Hot Springs, one of which was walking the Promenade behind the National Park Visitor Center on Bathhouse Row. We went as soon as we finished our meal as we had to walk off a few of those calories somehow! :) Definitely recommend!More

The food was really good and I think fairly priced. My waiter had others things to do. He rarely visited our table. Asks us how we were doing. Offered refills. You know, things any waiter should do. Now, maybe was having a bad day. Maybe...the other waiters are far better. But, I can only review the place on my experience. The food was really good and I would like to eat there again, but I don't know if I would go there again because of my waiter. I wouldn't want him again.More

Good service. We had the huge pretzel which was delicious. We also had the kelibasa which was perfect. The potato pancakes were disappointing and they forgot to bring out Potato dumplings. Overall a good experience. We will go back.

This has been our favorite place to eat for the past several years. The service has been great, the atmosphere, the food was incredible. We have eaten there in 2021 and 2022 a handful of times and have been very disappointed. I know this is...a common occurrence since the pandemic; higher prices, lower quality food. But it is still so disappointing for a place that I once recommended to tourists as one of the best places in Hot Springs on a regular basis. The service has very noticeably declined and so has the food. We used to enjoy dining here for the unique and flavorful meals. The menu has been changed and what is left is on par with local chain restaurant fare. It is just okay now, nothing special anymore, but with higher end restaurant prices.More

My wife and I were both born in the 70s. We were carded for alcohol but my wife left her ID at the hotel. I had her old ID in my wallet which showed her valid DOB. Denied. My wife wasn't trying to drive a...car with the ID, she was ordering a drink. Not sure what the goal is here, to prevent underage drinking or to just prevent people in their 40s from drinking. I have more white in my beard than Santa Claus, so this interaction was both confusing and frustrating. Probably won't go back.More

A friend visiting from California and I recently dined at Steinhaus Keller. Since we both had lived in Germany for several years we had a hankering for German cuisine and we were thrilled to find this place. However, the restaurant did not meet our expectations....Several people had told us to be sure to save room for dessert …..Apple Strudel. Sorry folks but this Apple strudel was nothing compared to what you’d get in Germany. We only ordered one to split since the dinner was nothing to rave about. The strudel appeared rubbery, difficult to cut in half. There was a custard sauce on the side which had no taste, but thank goodness for the whip cream. I had always wanted to eat at this restaurant when I was in Hot Springs but the timing was not right. They are only open from 3-9 pm and reservations are a must. Our server Shelby was super and very attentive, so kudos to her!More
