Definitely a keeper

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening last night at Luna Bella! The restaurant itself is next to a strip mall. Don't be fooled by the exterior, the place is amazing. They do take Covid precautions seriously which we were grateful for. All staff are masked, you must mask also but can remove once at table. We were greeted by the owners as we entered as well as the hostess and were quickly seated. We did have reservations and I recommend them especially with social distancing requirements. Our waitress was terrific all night. Drinks were kept full without needing to ask. We started with a wedge salad each which was crisp and fresh, but could have done without it as the entree portions were huge . My husband had the salmon and crab which he raved about and I had the pasta fortuna--- that sauce should be bottled and sold! We both had leftovers for lunch today and enjoyed it all over again. The owner came around during dinner to make sure all our needs were met and to thank us for coming in...very nice touch. Will definitely be back if in the area! Don't miss this gem!

OVER AND ABOVE EXPERIENCE

On a recent trip to Hot Springs Village to visit a friend, I read online reviews of Luna Bella and decided to make reservations. This restaurant is VERY popular and since I called the day we wished to dine, I was bracing for a "no reservations available". Instead, they offered 5:30 P.M. or 9 P,M. and I eagerly accepted the 5:30 reservation. I used my Maps app which was of no help and ended up 30 minutes late. First over and above experience - I called ahead and was told to come anyway and they would make it work. It was another 30 minutes before my guest arrived. The owner's husband was there to offer assistance when my guest arrived. Second over and above experience - I asked the bartender to have a gin and tonic and shrimp cocktail ready on the table when my guest arrived. She handled it perfectly! We enjoyed our dinner and before the end of the meal came the third over and above experience - owner's husband comes over and offers free dessert for all our efforts to dine with them. Other words that describe our experience are small and intimate atmosphere, friendly, fine dining, and extraordinary service. We look forward to our next visit to Luna Bella!

Great food, service and ambiance!

Loved this place! Cozy dining room where you can actually hear one another. Jennifer, our server was excellent in every way - pleasant, professional and personable. Nice wine selection! Husband had the warm cabbage salad and eggplant parm and I had the lobster crab salad and then angel hair pasta in a cheese sauce with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and chicken. Generous portions, too. We enjoyed every bite and would return here in a heartbeat! Also, place was packed on a Monday by 6:30! If you're in town, check this place out!

Disappointed

My friend and I chose this restaurant because of its number one rating and naturally our expectations were high. We were both disappointed. I ordered eggplant parmigiana and though thinly sliced the eggplant was so tough I had to cut it with a knife. Not joking! My friend ordered halibut with “citrus” sauce and thoroughly questioned waiter about the sauce as she is allergic to shellfish. He assured her there was nothing to worry about however he was wrong. The sauce was very fishy tasting and she ended up getting sick. Not a good way to begin a girls’ trip!

Scrumptious meal!!

This is an exceptional restaurant. My husband and I ate there for our anniversary. He ordered the veal piccata and I had the salmon. Both items were beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. We started with shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were very large and fresh tasting. The waiter we had was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and preparation of food. A very fun time.

This is a very welcoming dinner restaurant. You are greated by the owners, treated like family by the wait staff and served food that has a very appealing presentation and is delicious. Atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone for casual or dress up dining.

We were in Hot Springs for one night and looking for somewhere to eat. Trip advisor had Luna Bella rated as number one in the area so we decided to try it and we were so happy that we did. Our experience began with our warm greeting by the hostess who welcomed us and in a few minutes we were chatting like old friends. Our server was on top of it...very efficient and knowledgeable. Our cocktails were perfect. We ordered the arancini appetizer and it was good, not great. They serve it in a bowl of what we thought was vodka sauce (delicious) but they are almost swimming in it which made them a little soggy. The taste was good but the texture was off. My husband had the veal scallapini sauteed with shrimp, artichokes, etc. and it was wonderful. I had the special - striped sea bass served over angel hair pasta with olives, capers, artichokes, etc. and it was amazing. The fish was cooked perfectly, the pasta was seasoned (which doesn't always happen) and the sauce was light and flavorful. Even the foccacia bread served with herbed butter was great. Don't judge this place from the outside. It's a real gem and we can't wait to come back!

This is one of our favorite places for fine dining in Hot Springs, and we've never been disappointed. The service is outstanding (Jayne is excellent) and attentive, and waitstaff is knowledgeable about all the daily offerings. My wife fell in love with the beat salad, and the fettuccine with shrimp was excellent. The venue is tasteful and reasonably quiet. Abundant parking is available at the front door.

Terrible, so disappointed

I ordered a full meal here to go. Ordered a penne al vodka entree that was supposed to have blue crab, pancetta and sugar snap peas. Sounds delish, right? I received a container full of starch (pasta) some mediocre sauce, and a few peas. Not a speck of any of the listed ingredients If I had not already driven 40 miles back to hotel, would have taken it back. Felt really bad that I was trying to support a local restaurant and had been charged premium price for something I could have gotten at a Walmart deli for 4.95/lb. The Cesar salad and the orange brulee were almost as disappointing. Very unhappy. Please look at your food before you leave. Be warned.

I’m so shocked to hear this. Ive been in my restaurant every day it’s been opened and look at the to go boxes as they are being wrapped. Ive not seen this. I’m so sorry this happened to you. I so wish we had known it would’ve been fixed ASAP even though it shouldn’t have happened. My apologies. If your ever back let me know I will take care of you. Thank you

For a great meal out in Hot Springs

We decided to try Luna Bella on my birthday recently for our first trip to Arkansas. I noticed that it is the number one rated restaurant in Hot Springs on Trip Advisor so we decided to try it. They accommodated my husband's gluten free needs without any difficulty. He ordered the pasta primavera with chicken and said it was the best he has ever had. I ordered the penne with vodka sauce with blue crab and it was also delicious. I am happy they accomodated our 2 children ( 8 and 11) by offering half portions of the food. Our waiter was just ok, he seemed to be a bit stand offish. Maybe he was having a bad night. They do take the covid precautions very seriously and we appreciated that. I wish the interior was a bit more updated. We would return for a meal next time if we visit the area.

Delicious food!

Our meal was very good. The pasta is fresh and the chicken was very tender. We went to an early dinner (5:15 or so) on a Thursday evening and it didn't start to get busy until we were near the end of our meal. It was our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary dessert. The service was very good as well. Our only complaint was that they kept the restaurant far too cold. Perhaps had we had any cocktails or wine, it would have seemed warmer.

WARNING- it’s amazing!

We always go on a couples trip every year to Hs and try to hit a nice restaurants each trip. Every year we’ve been pretty disappointed apart from this one. Don’t let the outside of this building for you. When you get inside, it’s dimly lit, nicely decorated and perfect a nice date. But more importantly all the food was spectacular. I tried pretty much everything that my friends got. The complimentary bread with herbed butter , Parmesan risotto, calamari appetizer, penne al la vodka, pasta fortuna, and salmon were all fantastic. My favorite was the penne al la vodka and the salmon. The salmon was probably the best I’ve ever had in my life, it had a nice crisp to it and came with a Cajun crab sauce, that would also go very nicely on their fillet. Highly recommend!

Best dining in Hot Springs

We were here for several nights for Spring Break and Luna Bella was by far the best service and food of our whole trip. Without naming names, we ate a highly rated German restaurant and a place named after a big steak and Luna Bella’s service and food blew them away. There were no spring break crowd excuses here. Just good traditional and non-traditional Italian in a nice atmosphere. We will never hesitate to come back here. This place should have the outright #1 ranking on any sites if you actually like good food, service and atmosphere.

Last dinner of vacation

Oh my goodness you have to give this wonderful locally owned Italian restaurant a try. It’s small so make reservations, I called and had to leave a message and they called me back later in the afternoon to verify our reservation. We started with an appetizer called Arancini. Never had anything like it, so delicious. I went with the basic Spaghetti and Meatballs. Nothing basic about it though. Homemade meatballs and the sauce had so much flavor. My husband had one of the creamy pastas, I can’t remember what it was called but he finished not leaving a scrap. Now the bartender!! I wanted to clone her to work at a restaurant in Illinois so I could have one of her fabulous Pomegranate Martinis whenever I wanted. LOL I would give this a higher rating if available!

Delicious Italian in a friendly, yet upscale atmosphere

We made reservations for our family of 4 for a Thursday night a week before. You have to call after 2pm (or leave a message and they will return your call) since they are only open 5pm - 9pm. Good thing we had reservations, because the place was packed on the night we went. The outside is not particularly notable as it is in a sort of strip mall. But, the inside is cozy and inviting. Service was very good. The meatballs in the spaghetti & meatballs were possibly the best we have ever had - tender, well seasoned and high quality. The rack of lamb served with mashed potatoes was delicious. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were huge, yet still tender (and pricey as the cocktail is priced per shrimp). The Shrimp Florentino was delicious, but could have used just a bit more of the delicious sauce. The chocolate brulee was amazing. Warm bread was served to the table with a very nice herb butter. The pineapple martini was smooth and tasty.
