1st time eating here (2/22/2021. I’ve talked with several friends who have eaten here & loved it so decided to give it a try. Got the brisket & St Louis ribs. WOW! It was excellent. Oh, the corn pudding & sweet potatoe fries (with the...marshmallow dipping sauce) cannot be beat! I would highly recommend this place. Our waitress, Mackenzie was awesome too!More

Will start this by saying that there should be something on this page of TripAdvisor that reservations are required. Only found out after stopping in and the going to website. Had high reviews, have a 20 to 30 min wait.

Excellent brisket & pulled pork. Skillet green beans and corn casserole were a nice treat from the ordinary. Highly recommended!

We've been to Old Canal Smokehouse many times and it remains a favorite. Highlights include the long Island ice-teas made by Heidi and her wonderful personality. You can't beat the smoked meatloaf, armadillo egg appetizer, brisket Flatbread pizza, even their special ranch dressing for the...salad ... but now to add to our list of greats is their Sweet Potato Cheesecake!! Go there, you won't be sorry.More

Sign on an a frame outside but near the entrance door says face masks required be nice. All of the staff were wearing face masks and the restaurant had seating arranged for social distancing. This is a Bar BQ restaurant, my wife and I both...ordered their combo half baby back ribs and half St Louis style ribs. For sides she had a salad, Marconi and Cheese. For my sides I had their old fashion baked beans and potato salad. Both meals came with corn bread. We were surprised that the size of the meals. We had a whole rack of both style of ribs. All food was very delicious, but more than we could eat so we cut each in half and requested to go boxes. Our server was friendly and provided us with very good service. He kept our beverages refilled and checked on us to see how we were doing. Both restrooms were small one person ones. They appeared to be clean and well maintained. We attended onand a Sunday afternoon and try were very busy. They took our name and cell phone number telling us that we had about a 30-35 minute wait. We figured as much since when we arrived there were many people sitting on the three benches and others waiting in cars and standing outside. We had called ahead when we were about 30 minutes away and asked about how long the wait was. They told us 40-45 minutes and they were not taking phone reservations. The meal was well worth waiting for.More

My husband and I met our son here for his birthday dinner this evening. Food and service were both top notch and it is the cutest place! We will definitely be back.

To celebrate my hubby’s 72 birthday we wanted to visit Hocking Hills State Park. We live in Indianapolis and we’re concerned about COVID-19. I found a hotel in Chillicothe that had suites with a kitchen. The plan was to fix our meals so we would...cut down on exposure to the virus. But hubs really wanted to eat out for his birthday. I texted Old Canal Smokehouse to check on what COVID precautions were in place. After many back and forths I made reservations for his birthday. It was a Friday night and parking was hard to find for these out of Towners. But when we entered Old Canal We were seated immediately. A very sweet young waitress was very attentive to us throughout the meal. My husband got the 1/2 rack ribs, salad and homemade chips. I ordered rib-eye, skillet green beans and creamed corn. Everything was great! The honey mustard dressing is house made, not bottled. The green beans were seasoned with bacon, mushrooms and carrots. Made from scratch creme corn was almost as good as my own. (HeavyCream and cream cheese sauce) I picked this restaurant because it offers so many sides, not just the normal baked potato and garden salad. To me, the sides make the meal, and here, they are the Hallmark of a great restaurant. As my husband said as we left the restaurant, “Totally worth the four hour drive!” We visited 9/25/2020 at 5:30 pm.More

This is the 3rd time I’ve eaten here and it gets better ever time. I had the meat loaf and my wife had the pork ribeye. Both were served up piping hot. My meatloaf was very moist and tasty. It was served with rye toast...over mashed potatoes. Here pork ribeye was equally delicious. Our server was very attentive to our needs. Don’t miss this place if you are in Chillicothe.More

We were staying in Chillicothe for the weekend while exploring Hocking Hills. Old Canal Smokehouse was recommended by our hotel. I ordered the turkey club sandwich with green beans. My husband ordered the pulled pork with baked potato. Both meals were excellent. The service was...slow, but in these weird Covid times I don’t hold that against the restaurant. Ashley was our server and she was polite and professional and made recommendations when we asked. I would definitely return.More

Not sure if you're asking if the restaurant is affiliated with that family or if I'm related to them.... but neither.
