Five of us ate here last night. Two friends were from Iraq and said the food was like home sweet home. We had amazing portions for our salads and the mango and pear went so well with the feta and pomegranate dressing. We shared an...order of hummus with warm bread that was delicious. Our dinners were ample in size and quantity and we finished with Persian tea with cardamon. Worth the trip.More

It has been some years since we visited the Orchard Market/Cafe, but a meeting in the area reminded me how much we always enjoyed the food. So I looked it up and was happy to find the restaurant still functioning. We ordered carryout, although there...were a few appropriately spaced tables inside. Every dish from appetizer to dessert was as tasty as I remembered. There were a variety of appetizers and different groupings of main dishes from kabobs and newer cuisine to traditional stews and rice. I stuck to the traditional starting with Haleem Bademjune, a spread of eggplant & beans with sour cream, garlic, walnuts & spices. This came with two large pita. Aash-o-reshteh is one of my all time favorite soups with sun-dried herbs, lentils, red kidney beans, chickpeas & persian noodles. The Chicken Fesenjune was poached and broke into tender pieces, no knife needed. It was served in the traditional pomegranate-walnut sauce with saffron topped rice. The Persian Baklava (Baghlava) sprinkled with dried cherries and candied orange zest was a perfect finish. The order was promptly ready within about 15 minutes of my calling. There is plenty of parking, and the staff are courteous and friendly.More

When Jason decides to offer a special – he goes all out. We were delighted to take him up on his offer of Buy One Entrée – Get One Free if you order before 6:00 PM. It does not get much better than this! We...placed our order and went to pick it up. The food was packaged so well – no spills or drips. It was piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed the Barg and the Seafood Advieh. I was able to enjoy two meals out of the Seafood Advieh. There is something about the way they season their dishes that brings out the best in them and delights our pallets.More

In an effort to support one of our favorite local restaurants during the Coronavirus outbreak, we ordered take out. We have dined at the Orchard Market many times and thoroughly enjoy the owner, Jason. It was so easy. We just called the restaurant in the...early afternoon and placed our order for pick-up at 6:00 PM. We just want to remind everyone not to forget to leave a generous tip for Jason and his staff who are working so hard to provide food for all of us. It is a great way to show your appreciation to the restaurant and its staff! My husband always enjoys the Barg - a skewer of butterflied beef tenderloin with grilled tomato & onion, seasoned with sumac. We asked for half rice and half salad, which they did for us. The beef tenderloin was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had the Seafood Advieh, which normally comes with Mahi Mahi, but tonight, had salmon - along with shrimp, scallops and artichokes simmered in a tomato-based sauce with Persian Advieh (Advieh means curry in Farsi). The addition of cinnamon, cumin, cardamom, ginger spices & ground rose petals made the dish burst with flavor. We really enjoyed our dinners. Thank you Jason!More

Wonderful Persian food at a reasonable price. Appetizers to share are delectable, and the kabobs are great too. Meal didn’t suffer from being carryout at all.

I started walking from my hotel and found this little unassuming restaurant nearby. What an incredible find! The pear and mango salad was delicious. The chicken abadan was very tasty. And the desert was incredible. I ate so much I took a nice long walk...back to my hotel.More

We have been coming to the Orchard Market and Cafe for many years. When our kids were little we would get carryout aash... a wonderful savory soup. And, after all these years, they continue to amaze. If you have never had Persian food, you are...in for a treat Hummus, soup and salad start you out, with a beautiful yogurt sauce similar to Greek tzatziki, but sweeter with raisins and walnuts Today was a succulent lab stew with eggplant and okra in tomato sauce. A lovely concoction is there feta cheese, artichoke and eggplant dish that is heaven! Good people run this jewel, and a mother and daughter duo are the very excellent chefs.More
