Sunset Point Amed offers an incredible view, even if the sunset isn’t guaranteed due to clouds, as was the case during our visit. The location itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere is vibrant and relaxed. There’s a pool on-site, which adds to the appeal, but be aware that using the loungers comes at an additional charge.
The staff is exceptionally friendly, creating a welcoming environment, and the guests are equally laid-back and sociable. A live band provides entertainment, which adds a nice touch to the ambiance. However, the quality of their performance may not appeal to everyone – it’s definitely a matter of personal taste.
The food, while decent, doesn’t quite justify the price. One important thing to note is the minimum spend of 125k IDR per person, which essentially acts as the entrance fee. This could feel a bit steep depending on what you order, especially considering the food quality is average at best.
Overall, Sunset Point Amed is worth a visit for the views and vibe, but keep your expectations in check when it comes to dining and pricing.

The establishment is very nice accompanied by a beautiful view, the dishes are very good. However do not be in a hurry to eat or drink, we waited 30 minutes for the dish and an hour for a simple mojito and cocktail. The service is to be reviewed!!!

The view is what saves this place! It is absolutely incredible for sunset, with the sun disappearing behind the mountains at the other side of the bay. You can watch the night divers go out too, following their torches under the water. The drinks were strong. However, the food was too expensive, with small portions and an average taste - eat before you come! Be aware that it also gets very busy, so come early if you want a seat with a view.

We visited Amed twice, and on our second trip, we finally checked out this place after several locals recommended it. Since it’s a popular spot, we made sure to book in advance to secure a good view for sunset, and we managed to reserve the bean bag area.
Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the hype. When we arrived, it was incredibly crowded (it was a Saturday night), and the bean bags were placed too close together, which felt highly uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the DJ was playing music at a very high volume, giving it more of a beach club vibe than a relaxing sunset spot. For sure, we didn’t stay to enjoy our meal and opted to take the food to go.
The drinks were decent, but the food was a big letdown. We ordered a ham and cheese sandwich (about IDR 70-80k), which turned out to be just plain white bread with two slices of ham and some mozzarella – and that was it. For the price, we only got two small sandwiches that barely added up to a single serving. We also ordered a pizza (around IDR 100k), but it was so thin and barely had any toppings – just a few pieces of sausage and meat with no sauce. The food was too disappointing to even take a photo of.

To flee tourist trap
We are barely done and asked to pay ....
There is just the view which is superb
But the rest horrible
The food is really not good
Go to a small restaurant on the beach is much less and much better

We visited this place as it seemed to be the best sunset place in Amed (good Marketing…). When we arrived, all the tables with nice view were pre-booked and had to take one all the way at the end (without without you). They recommended we go below the pool and sit at bench style table, which turned to be fantastic and better than any other spot for sunset.
Unfortunately, this area had a very basic menu where everything was frozen fried food, reheated frozen pizzas, and tasteless pasta. I ordered a carbonara pizza and it was NOT good.
Drinks were even worst. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and there were no bubbles and just a dash of Aperol. I had to stand up and show the bartender how to do a proper one. When I order a second one, 30 minutes later, I had to cancel the order as it was still on my table and I was leaving. Drinks were overpriced.
And last, they had two drones flying over the restaurant all the time, very noisy, very disturbing. Talk to the manager, and he really didn’t care about it, nor about any service or food issues.
I will not return to this place for sunset, nevertheless, I recommend a nice restaurant just across the street with two levels of terraces, great food, great prices, and great service, all to see the same sunset.

Place with a magnificent view, a magnificent swimming pool, and that's it.
Entrance costs 125,000 rupees (7-8 euros) per person, and then you can eat them on site. The food is really very average, so I recommend spending that money on drinks/cocktails and then going elsewhere for dinner.

We came there for dinner, first thing is, you need to pay an entrance fee, which is later a discount from your order balance. We placed an order and after almost one hour we were still sitting there and didn’t get anything. I asked to speak with the manager and he just offered me one free drink for this terrible service, no any interest to solve the issue, just that we have to wait. We left and I can just recommend everyone to stay as far as possible from this place.

Ok so the majority of poor reviews on this place is the 100k minimum spend per person.. You pay this on arrival then they subtract from final bill. This is about £5/pp do 2 drinks.
The car park is a little questionable but the place itself is very modern. Pool looked nice. Mostly bean bag seating with low tables.
Service was a little slow, you had to get their attention but once you had it they were friendly.
Food was miss. The cheese croquettes n spring rolls were lovely but the chicken was dry & overcooked.
View was lovely

We were driving up the hill at the end of Amed Beach and spotted the view down to the beach. We pulled over and walked back. That’s when we discovered that Sunset View had put barriers up so you could not see the view.
So, we parked the car properly in a dusty old car park and entered the reception area, which is where we found out that there was a minimum 200000 spend. So that being about $20 NZ, we thought that was OK as it was probably only a couple of cocktails. But the maître de was rude, and when I asked what we got for our money, he muttered to the other staff in his own language. I know it was not nice.
I wish I had read the reviews as this man is a rude man to many people with lots of talk about not liking tourists and to go home, etc. I would not have gone here and taken my money to somewhere else.
It was quite busy, and we got a seat down below the pool on a stool at the bar. There are several options for seating. The cocktails were watery and weak. The view of Jemeluk Bay below with Mt Agung in the background and the sun setting was beautiful despite it being a bit cloudy.
The food looked awful (and apparently it is according to reviews), and we only stayed for 1 drink. We did not use the whole 200000 and thought about giving the credit to someone else but as you leave, you have to give your ticket to someone who checks your spend and if over I guess you pay the difference there. That’s stops anybody else using the credit, I guess. But it's my money and I should be able to give it away if I want.
Would I feel I had missed something by not going here - no, not at all.
And now I have read the reviews. I think tourists should not support such a place with poor quality drinks and food and rude maître des

We need to pay for deposit IDR 100k/per person at the entrance. The architecture was hurting my eyes and I didn't really feel uncomfortable. For the bed, they charged IDR 30k which is fine but please at least clean it from dust. That view of the harbor, the mountain and the sunset was amazing! So beautiful!
The food was ok. The tacos was good, but not the potato cheese that looks like croquette. I would rather order French fries and beer on my next visit. We hate that our food were served with plastic cutleries! It's so not eco-friendly and it seemed too lazy for the restaurant to wash the proper cutleries. The service was fine, the staff were very attentive.
I don't like the live music, it doesn't really match with the ambience.

I hesitate between 2 and 1... arrived too late for the view, so evaluation only on food and drink. We had to stop someone who was passing by to get the menus. The prices are still expensive compared to what you can find elsewhere for better quality. Additionally, one of our plates arrived literally cold. The burgers were good, but the quantity of fries/potatoes was very small on the plates. Quite disappointing for the price.

🇬🇧 After spending ten minutes inside the venue searching for a seat that wasn't reserved, I took the liberty to ask a waiter for help. When I dared to approach a certain Brandon, who was in charge of managing the seating, he treated us terribly, aggressively pointing out seats in a completely inappropriate manner.
Note: To prevent tourists from leaving after entering, an upfront payment of 200k is demanded before entering.
You can enjoy the same beautiful sunset from any point in Amed, so don't go there.

Chap at reception…minimum 100k per person to be spent on menu items. Us…ok, but would like to know what we’re paying for. Chap…go and have a look at the photos in front. Us…why can’t we just go and have a look. It’s not unreasonable to see what one is paying for. Chap…people just come in and take photo, that’s why there is minimum spend. Us…yea, get it, but would like to see what the food is, what it looks like etc. Chap…you’ve got a bad attitude, just go back to your own country. Us…excuse me!!
We left (not Indonesia for our own country) just this place of bad karma.
Three year old daughter summed it up nicely as we left, she’d been listening silently to the exchange. That man…he was a horrible baddy.

Namely, we paid 500k rupees for 4 as entry fees excluding taxes,... and we have to pay again for a deckchair (sweat this point, not great shopping in my opinion).
On the other hand, after everything went well, magnificent view, infinity pool, lounge music, efficient service, you can move from cushions to small viewpoint tables or to the restaurant depending on your desires, being able to eat anywhere in advance. All consumption is indicated on your entry ticket and upon exit you pay what exceeds the entry price. Menu quite minimalist for eating but correct on the plate. Great experience, a little more ‘high level’ in terms of atmosphere than the beach restaurants. To try once 😎
