If you're looking for great comfort food, look no further. The menu offers lots of comfort food, like meatloaf and pot roast, but also offers salads, soups, quiche, wraps, burgers, sandwiches, and a more-than-decent selection of pie. Our favorites are the meatloaf and mashed potatoes,...and the crispy chicken salad. The owners are very responsive, should you have any questions or concerns. April, is especially helpful and knowledgeable. Cherry Pit Cafe' has really good food, at fair prices. It's our favorite place, in Greensboro.More

Hubby and I ate here for the first time.  The food was really good.  The chicken pot pie (the best ever!) and the shepherds pie was fabulous! The mac and cheese was super good. You could tell it was homemade as was the potato soup....I don't usually get potato soup in restaurants because they usually come from a factory and taste like it. I know now where to get really good potato soup! A previous reviewer complained that the zucchini bites were spicy and that it wasn't mentioned on the menu.  There was just a tiny hint of spice that was barely noticeable. I wouldn't have even noticed had I not been paying attention for it! It was extremely mild. You can't make everyone happy. They were really good but I think they would have been better with ranch dip instead marinara sauce even though it was really good marinara sauce. Ranch seems like a better match.  Maybe ask the customer for a preference upon order? Just a suggestion. Ranch could possibly make a difference for someone to reorder next time. If I couldn't get ranch I probably wouldn't get them again. Staff was friendly and we were promptly served. I would have liked to of seen staff cleaning the tables after each customer leaves like most good quality restaurants do. It only takes a minute. We don't eat much pie but hey, it's a pie Cafe! So we took a slice of cherry crumb pie to go to share later. Man, it was FRESH and so good and tasty!  It was perfect! The best cherry crumb pie I've ever had. I know where I'm coming to get pies for the family holidays. Over all great experience. 👍👍More

My wife and I stopped in because it looked interesting.. It took an excessive amount of time to get a simple breakfast. Over 30 minutes. The coffee was cold and whenI brought it to the young ladies attention she did not offer to make more....I asked for tea in its place and when we left I was charged for both.. Maybe the young lady was having a bad morning but we will not be back...More

Cheerfully greeted when we arrived, big plate of food delivered to our outdoor table! Fries were hot & crispy, chicken pot pie was tasty with a flaky crust! Too full to get desert... Next time we will have dessert first!

This review only considers the cherry pie. I bought one several weeks ago. It was about 50% cherry flavored gelatin, and 50% cherries...and way overpriced at $13 for an 9" pie. You can buy a delicious 12" cherry pie at Costco for $10 with about...80% cherries.More

The wraps and salads are excellent! Plus, they have PIE!!! Just a small, unassuming cafe/diner atmosphere but worth a try!

Nothing good to say. Food was overpriced. Took 20 minutes for a salad and club sandwich, sandwich had maybe two slices of ham and bacon, (pic below) for $8.95. Employees aren't friendly or helpful, restaurant was filthy, near no lighting in restroom. There's nothing redeeming...about this "restaurant". I guess one thing would be the mac-n-cheese was hot, but had very little flavor.More

Ordered 3 dinners. The chicken pot pie was ok, not a lot of flavor. Cornbread was good. The crab and bacon quiche was good. The chicken fried steak was horrible! 2 thin pieces of meat that when you cut it, the entire breading fell off....It was so salty and just unappealing all around. I have never had one that bad. I gave it all to the dogs. I asked for a mashed potato and instead got 2 containers of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese also went to the pups. Inedible, no flavor, tasted like glue. And the sweet potatoe bites out of the freezer section, which I'm sure where the 'chicken fried steak' came from as well. Hate to say it but the price point really reflects the quality and I should've known that. Doubt I'll be back.More

We needed a quick place for lunch in between doctor visits. They didn’t disappoint. The black and blue burger and chicken salad sandwich was delicious. The service was very friendly and fast. We stopped back by after the last doctor visit to take a pie...home.More

Amazed at all they offer on the menu. I got the crab cakes and they were fantastic. I’m not much of a red onion person, but I bet slaw on it would be great. Fries were really good. My husband got the triple decker ham...club, he said it was really good and it looked good . Also got a “brownie ate my cookie” while it was great, it should of been warmed a little and ice cream would of been a bonus. Really no complaints though, quick and affordable.More

We needed a lemon meringue pie for a niece's birthday, so we ordered one from the Cherry Pit Cafe. Wow! We went back and bought a second one. Delicious. It's certainly not necessary to call ahead. There are seemingly plenty of pies available, whole pie...or by the slice. Lots of options to try. We'll do our best! (And they have a punch card to sweeten the deal...)More

This is a cute little spot located right near Harris Teeter. We placed our order in the back at the counter and sat down at a booth. It was clean and comfortable and very busy. We both had omelets; I had the California omelet and...my husband had the Ham and Cheddar. Both came with potatoes which were cooked perfectly; the other side choice was grits. Our omelets were very good. We didn't have pie, but there were lots of choices, and also a variety of other baked goods that all looked tasty. We will definitely go back especially to try some pie.More

Love this family owned cafe for quick & delicious meals & baked goods. I have picked up their delicious chicken pot pie with family size salad several times & it truly tastes like homemade. They also have other main courses & vegetables for lunch or...dinner. My husband really likes their burgers as well. Each day they run a special so is a fun way to try a new entree. Don’t forget to try their namesake cherry pie...it’s delicious. My husband loves key lime as well. Highly recommend. KatB NCMore

I am on a quest to find locally owned family type restaurants to visit as I no longer choose to cook. I want good, tasty food served with a smile. I am looking for a pleasant atmosphere where I can linger or where I can...get a quick lunch or a take out. Today I visited the Cherry Pit Cafe. It met all my criteria and more. The food was quite good; the pricing very acceptable; the service excellent; the opportunity to linger and visit with a friend was perfect. Plus this month whole pies are on sale for less that $10. Thank you, Cherry Pit Cafe, I will be back!More
