I have heard for years how great the steak is at this restaurant so we decided to finally go. The price is in line with most of the other steak houses in the area. The service was okay but very slow compared to most places,...even in today’s world. The food was good but nothing memorable or that would draw me back. If you are a purest with the taste of you steak, I.e. you don’t like much or any taste other than just the taste of the steak, then this is the place for you. Pretty much all the food we had seemed pretty bland.More

This was our first visit to Alamo, but it won't be the last. The horseradish and parmesan crusted filet was excellent and the brown sugar honey butter was amazing. Our servers Jennifer & Danielle were great.

We eat here almost everytime we come to Gatlinburg. Food was mediocre at best. Salads were good, however, the remainder of our meals left a lot to be desired. We ordered a filet cooked medium and a SanteFe chicken. Steak came out basically very rare...and chicken didn't have much seasoning was tough. Garlic mashed potatoes appeared to be leftover and were not tasty at all. How do you mess up mashed potatoes. Service was just ok! Do not plan to go back again. S$90 (with tip) chalked up to bad experience. That was two entrees, water and tea. No deserts or appetizers.More

We were told this was the best steak place around and we were very disappointed-steaks were over cooked and just ok. When you are paying close to $40 for a steak you expect it to be cooked exactly how you want it. Service was great.

The food here is very good, the service is very good and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. If we ever return to Gatlinburg we will definetly eat here. We live in Carlsbad New Mexico and the people that own...restaurants in Carlsbad need to come here and take a lesson on how to operate a steakhouse!More

When you get to the restaurant shortly after it opens and the men's room smells strongly of urine, you know you're in for a one star experience. Alamo is a very poor knock off of Texas Road House. Similar menu, but no peanuts. Tried two...appetizers - prime rib bites and crab stuffed mushrooms. If your taste buds tingle and your spouse salivates when you both picture tired, sad and mediocre, this is your place. If you're looking for a Texas Roadhouse experience, look elsewhere. Honestly don't remember the last restaurant we selected which was this smelly and sad.More

Enjoyed it so much we ate here twice on our trip to the Smokies. Our first time there was a 45 min wait but it was to be expected on a Sat. They seem well set up for handling crowds however. Appetizers were good, particularly...the bacon wrapped shrimp. The honey butter that came with the rolls was so good! Steaks were cooked to order perfectly! Very tender and tasty. Would definitely recommend!More

We arrived and checked in. The wait was 45-60 minutes so we stepped over to the bar. My wife had a frozen strawberry margarita and I had a Bloody Mary. The drinks were great. As we finished our drinks the table was ready. The server...was great and very polite. We started with Shrimp Cocktail and Cheese Sticks they both were great. We then had two salads and both were amazing. Sadly things took a turn for the worst. The steaks had no seasoning and were tough, like chewing on rubber. The potatoes and mushrooms had no flavor. We had to add a lot of salt and pepper and steak sauce. We were so disappointed after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor.More

Not sure what the previous ratings were based on but we ordered three appetizers that were average not 4.5 stars… the broth for the French onion soup lacks the sherry and deep rich beef flavor that the dish is famous for. Stove top beef broth...in a can with some onions tossed in is more likely. The Parmesan steak appetizer was not very good. The sauce tasted like it came from a can and the steak was cut into strips like a fajita portion. Unfortunately the flavor of the steak was that of over seasoned left overs that were repurposed to produce this appetizer. I would not recommend this one. Moving to the entrees: I ordered the fried shrimp ( I know it’s a steakhouse but the server said the shrimp was exceptional) and discovered that they were large butterflied and hand battered which is what I would cone to expect in a Florida seafood house. Nice job on the fried shrimp dinner! The chicken teriyaki was just simply not good at all. Over powering smoke flavor coupled with the Smokey pineapple was not a good pairing with the thinned glaze on the chicken which was also overcooked. Served atop a bed of rice seasoned poorly. Although the creamed spinach was good it was overshadowed by the poor chicken dish. I would not recommend the chicken at all. Overall I was very surprised that the ratings were so high here, but I suppose the other pricier items like the cowboy steak must be really good. Either way we will not be back. I hope your experience is much better should you choose to try it out. Btw we spent $97 on these items. Vacationing for our honeymoon, and this was our first stop. We had reserved the Love Nest weeks in advance. Solely for couples, the love Nest is a separate dining room just for the two of you. Tonya was our server, and was delightful. True southern...hospitality. She even brought over a manager to go over the foods that contain egg allergens... one of us is allergic to eggs. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was incredible, and the prime rib was amazing. If you're in the area, you must try this! Consider calling ahead.More

Even better than before!! We ate at Alamo last year and loved it so decided to go again last night. WOW!!!! We were blown away!!! We were seated and our server, Valente greeted us and our dining experience went out the roof. His personal service...and expertise take dining to a whole new level. Then our food came and that just topped the evening off. Our food was great. Thanks Alamo for a wonderful evening!More

The food was very good, starting with the salad and including the filet mignon. We got there early and we still had to wait a good 45 minutes. Highly recommend.

Not for sure but the wait time to get in was minimal when we were there. Service and and food were excellent and expedited very quickly. You could tell our server had been doing this for some time.
