This is a great little place off the beaten path to enjoy some tasty food and tea while relaxing in relative quiteness.

Don’t miss out on this jewel! The excellence of the staff and the food is worth the short drive. If you like delicious food and gracious hospitality this place is for you. We loved it
Quaint tea house situated in a cabin with a deck for outdoor dining. Delicious Austrian-style tea served hot and cold with unlimited refills. Savored the chicken salad, cold pea salad, tomato bisque and mini plum muffins. Save room for their homemade desserts!
It was our first visit here, to this quaint beautiful restraunt in the forest. The hostess explains the menu and dishes,so choices are easier to make. Bone china tea cups, and plates. Excellent beverages, try their teas. Pure joy for your soul. We each chose different entrees,but...shared the pimento cheese appetizer. A major treat for you awaits. Each meal was beautiful, delicious with fabulous ingredients hand made. Their signature German potato soup, was unlike any We have ever had. Absolutly marvelous!❤ well worth every pennyMore
One of my favorite meals and experiences ever! The ambiance is adorable and the food selection was amazing. We made a reservation for 12:30 on a Friday and were seated promptly. The three of us each had a different appetizer, main course and dessert which...were all fresh, delicious and flavorful. Their house plum tea is served hot or cold and had just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. The ambiance is really lovely and offers patio, screened porch, or indoor seating. You can tell the entire staff take great pride in their food. I highly recommend making the effort to visit this gem when in the Gatlinburg/pigeon forge/Sevierville area.More
The outside is quaint and the inside is typical of a tea room, filled with girly things you might expect to find at your grandmother or great grandmother's house, including lace table linens, frilly seat cushions, curio cabinets, fragile tea cups/saucers and furnishings that have...stood the test of time. We had a reservation for 1:30 pm and we weren't seated until 2:15 pm. Which is odd because you would think that's what reservations are for. I started a week prior to our visit trying to call to make reservations as the pre-recorded greeting recommended. Somebody did call us back to confirm. I mentioned my friend and I were vegetarian but only 1 vegetarian meal the strata was saved for us the day we arrived. We ordered the mushroom soup, the baked brie (which was pretty good) and the strata (which was okay) with the pasta salad (the pasta was raw - really undercooked (not al dente but raw) and had the chocolate cake (which was really dense) Their wild plum tea was delicious to begin with but afterwards we had stomach aches - wondering if they put artificial sweeteners in it. The service was polite. When we asked if they had wifi, they said they couldn't remember the password?! The meal was overpriced for what it was. It was also very hot in the restaurant. I would not recommend this place.More
We’ve been coming to Wild Plum Tea Room for decades. We understand that Covid has negatively impacted many restaurants. But we were disappointed with the smaller portions, higher prices, lack of items on menu (strata - and we arrived at opening), and dilapidation of the...space overall. Half of the floor is sinking in and the chair and table was at such a slant that it was uncomfortable to eat. We’ve loved visiting the Plum tea room many times but sadly, we will not be returning anytime soon.More
This is one of my very favorite places to visit while in Gatlinburg. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. It is a very unique dining experience. The wild plum tea is delicious. A must go to!
The chicken salad has apples. That's not my thing, so I am putting that upfront. If it's not your thing order something else. First off, for travelers that care, their COVID precautions are excellent without being a burden on the customer. We got takeout which...had a slightly smaller menu. The lobster pie and mini-muffins were perfect. The tea was also very good (it's about as sweet as Arizona green tea but much better tasting). The chicken salad was clearly well made, but I like my chicken salad without apples. I would generally say, it's just not the thing to order since it does not reach the scrumptious level that the other dishes do.More
Girls trip with my mom. I was so excited to take her to The Wild Plum. It was an utter disappointment. Unfriendly staff which we only saw one person. The food was disappointing also. We all had the chicken salad plate. It lacked flavor. The...fruit was ok. The scone was the least looking scone ever. The atmosphere was nice. I think I'll stick with Burdetts Tea Room at home in Springfield. TN. The Wild Plum could learn from them.More
The people here are super nice & great at keeping social distancing & mask requirements important. The food is fabulous and perfect for lunch. Must have the wild plum tea & Amaretto bread pudding is so delicious.
Same as title, sorry. I read it wrong. I won't eat lunch any where else. I love this place. Wish I was there now. It is really that good!
First time to visit the tea room~~ very pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, and amazing staff highly recommend for a nice, quiet lunch
Excited to try this GEM and was sadly disappointed. Wait staff was just terrible. Took a while to get our drink order. Server was training a gal and shouldn’t be training. He could tell u all about the menu but offered no customer care after...u order. Got 4 Plum muffins w plum jam. They are very tiny bit size but good. Long wait for us both for chicken salad and when delivered to the table we asked for refills since our drinks were empty. He Never got us taken care of. Ate with no drinks. Had to track them down for our bill. Food was just okay. Chicken salad was average. Liked the little tiny bit size scone and wished it was larger. Best part of lunch. We visit the area yearly and always look for great restaurants but The Wild Plum Tea Room won’t be on our list for future visits. Was not worth the 30 min drive from our cabin or $30 lunch bill.More
After dining at the Wild Plum Tea Room for the past 30 years, our party of 5 will never dine there again. Never in our lives have we been treated in such a rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate, condescending and astonishing manner! Other guests were also ahstonished...at the unbelievable behavior the waitress unabashedly displayed. Many guests left. Don't bother going. It's a nightmare and you will regret it. SeriouslyMore
