The chicken salad has apples. That's not my thing, so I am putting that upfront. If it's not your thing order something else. First off, for travelers that care, their COVID precautions are excellent without being a burden on the customer. We got takeout which...had a slightly smaller menu. The lobster pie and mini-muffins were perfect. The tea was also very good (it's about as sweet as Arizona green tea but much better tasting). The chicken salad was clearly well made, but I like my chicken salad without apples. I would generally say, it's just not the thing to order since it does not reach the scrumptious level that the other dishes do.More

Girls trip with my mom. I was so excited to take her to The Wild Plum. It was an utter disappointment. Unfriendly staff which we only saw one person. The food was disappointing also. We all had the chicken salad plate. It lacked flavor. The...fruit was ok. The scone was the least looking scone ever. The atmosphere was nice. I think I'll stick with Burdetts Tea Room at home in Springfield. TN. The Wild Plum could learn from them.More

The people here are super nice & great at keeping social distancing & mask requirements important. The food is fabulous and perfect for lunch. Must have the wild plum tea & Amaretto bread pudding is so delicious.

Same as title, sorry. I read it wrong. I won't eat lunch any where else. I love this place. Wish I was there now. It is really that good!

Excited to try this GEM and was sadly disappointed. Wait staff was just terrible. Took a while to get our drink order. Server was training a gal and shouldn’t be training. He could tell u all about the menu but offered no customer care after...u order. Got 4 Plum muffins w plum jam. They are very tiny bit size but good. Long wait for us both for chicken salad and when delivered to the table we asked for refills since our drinks were empty. He Never got us taken care of. Ate with no drinks. Had to track them down for our bill. Food was just okay. Chicken salad was average. Liked the little tiny bit size scone and wished it was larger. Best part of lunch. We visit the area yearly and always look for great restaurants but The Wild Plum Tea Room won’t be on our list for future visits. Was not worth the 30 min drive from our cabin or $30 lunch bill.More

After dining at the Wild Plum Tea Room for the past 30 years, our party of 5 will never dine there again. Never in our lives have we been treated in such a rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate, condescending and astonishing manner! Other guests were also ahstonished...at the unbelievable behavior the waitress unabashedly displayed. Many guests left. Don't bother going. It's a nightmare and you will regret it. SeriouslyMore

On a girls day we could not wait to arrive. It was very cool. Had to wait outside as you're NOT invited in until you are seated. Only 9 people ahead of us (2 parties) It was a cold hour plus wait.....outside. Hot tea was...nice. Very bland food. We were given 1 small warm scone to share between 3 of us. Very small portions...but not tasty enough for us to finish our meal. Not worth the wait. Not worth the trip there.More

This isn’t a fast experience, but it’s worth the slow pace. The salmon burger has huge chunks of salmon all mashed together in a delicious way. The sweet muffins and wild plum jam disappear quickly at our table! There have only been a couple of...servers the last 2 times we have been, so they haven’t used the upstairs seating. This makes the wait take a little longer. But if you’re prepared for a leisurely lunch, it’s fine.More

The Wild Plum has been our special first stop in Gatlinburg for over 15 years. While the food was as delicious as ever, we were surprised and disappointed to have a 2 hour wait time to be seated. As other reviewers have noted, there was...one waitress and one helper, with the owner manning the kitchen. More than half the dining room was empty and no one was seated on the patio as they will not seat more than the extremely limited staff can handle. People were turning around and leaving. We love the location and the food, but we will not endure a 2-hour wait for any restaurant. Unfortunately, we will have to find a new tradition.More

I agree with Josh's assessment. I would say the porch has a larger seating capacity because part of the porch is enclosed on the front of the house and a section of it isn't enclosed for those sunny days you want to enjoy... More
