Very solid 4 of 5.
Fish is very good though not exceptional.
Service is also very good bordering on exceptional. Interior is nice just missed something I couldn’t put my finger on.
But overall a nice pleasant enjoyable meal.
Wonderful food and service. Good value for money. Included hush puppies and hand made chips free of charge. Trout fritters for appetizer we amazing. Serving staff were incredibly nice. Overall an amazing experience
Cannot think of anything bad. Just really tasty, fresh, well portioned trout and catfish. Side salad is also quite good but there is additional $2.00.
For each entree, you also get fresh cut chips ,hush puppies and two sides.
Small and cozy and designed to be reminiscent of a rustic fishing shack, the Smoky Mountain Trout House has delicious fried trout. The sides are somewhat limited but are tasty and the right addition to a plate of fried fish. The hushpuppies and chips are...a nice touch. This is simple, good cooking at it's best. There was no wait when we were there, but we've seen lines in the past. The server was efficient and timely and the food came out quickly. Highly recommended!More
We ate here on our honeymoon 36 years ago and continue to come back. Great food, intimate atmosphere and rustic look and feel. The trout is served many different ways but we like the butterflied and fried. Comes with homemade chips and hush puppies as...an appetizer.More
This is an old school dining destination that has had a recent upgrade. The food is delicious and of course you have to go with the grilled fresh mountain trout seasoned and grilled over an open flame with sides of sauteed mushrooms and onions and...green beans. Everything was great and you should check it out when there.More
We really wanted to try local trout and were told this is the place to go. The website says it's open till 9 pm but we called to confirm. The lady on the phone told us to get there as close to 8:30 as possible....We walked a mile through light rain, arriving at 8:34. Woman at the desk said "were closed". We tried to explain we called but only response was "closed". People were still eating. She was quite rude. We have 2 more nights here but will find another place to patrinize.More

I agree with posts down below. There were 6 of us and I think our bill was around 125 or so. Most dishes are around 20-25 dollars, but that is not out of line with every other place in the area, unless you get fast food. The... More
