A little gem. Great menu. A nice change from bar food or pizza. The turkey Reuben was very tasty as was the chicken parm sandwich. My kids really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwiches. They also had a very comfortable patio so we could enjoy the food in a relaxed environment with the kids. The staff was working very hard to serve everyone in a timely fashion which is always very appreciated when you have 5 kids!

On Glades Road and opens at 11 AM. Many good items on their menu. I had the chicken salad sandwich which comes on Texas toast with fries. My partner had fish tacos which were on a flour tortilla with a piece of deep-fried fish with spicy chipotle mayonnaise and coleslaw and fries to the side.Together with one drink for less than $25. It was very good with large portions.

We found Split Rail Eats on Trip Advisor after arriving at our cabin and wanted something to eat but we weren’t quite ready for Saturday crowds in Gatlinburg. What a great restaurant. Sincerely, highly recommend. Great atmosphere, decor and food was fantastic. It is a little pricey for “counter order” style food, but it is delivered to your table and my wife and two pickey teenage young adult daughters loved our meals. I had a Philly cheesesteak that was incredible and a Coke in a real bottle. We all topped it off with a scoop of ice cream. My one complaint for them is it’s a little hard to find nestled in this kind of inverted artist community that is hard to see from the twisty road. Not really SRE’s fault just is what it is. Sincerely highly recommend and our daughters were already asking to go back.

We had tried to eat at this small restaurant one other time while visiting Gatlinburg, but they were closed. The staff were friendly and helpful when we asked questions about various menu items. We ordered a Southwestern Burger and a Jacked Turkey sandwich. Sandwiches come with choice of fries or tater tots. We also had an appetizer of chicken fritters. Both sandwiches and the appetizer were very tasty. The fries are homemade and much better than the tots. You place your order and pay before seating yourself.

Cheeseburger was horrible. Worst hamburger i ever ate. Mac n cheese was gross. Total meal was $43. Manager only refunded cost of one burger when we ordered 3. The Dr Pepper didn’t ever taste good. Would never go there again.

Split Rail Eats is a little out of the way from the main drag, but in the best way possible. The food was delicious, and had many gluten free options, including delicious gluten free bread. They did seem a bit understaffed while we were there but big props to the gentleman who was running the entire front of house - he was doing about 10 things at once but still made you feel welcomed and comfortable.

So much fun to write a great review after eating at a restaurant that came through on everything. Great and friendly service, strict protocols for COVID, great tasty food that is fresh with a unique offering. Love the tater idea and ordered a taco tater with tater tots as my salad base with fresh ingredients added. Delicious. The atmosphere is nice with outdoor seating. We were surprised is wasn't crowded when we went, but this restaurant deserves a lot of business. They are doing everything right and it was so enjoyable to eat here. A good addition to the Arts and Craft community!

Gatlinburg has a Gatlinburger Week in September. This year (2021) 16 restaurants participated, competing for the best burger in Gatlinburg. Each restaurant offers one of their signature burgers for a discounted price. I chose to eat my first burger at Split Rail Eats because it was on the Artist's Loop and didn't involve fighting the downtown traffic. However, now that I've been there, it is one of my favorite places! I had the Daddy Mac Burger...topped with deep-fried mac'n'cheese and other goodies. I usually try to avoid fried foods, but that mac'n'cheese was delicious, as was the entire burger! I counter-balanced it with a fresh side salad and don't regret my choice for a second! I can't wait to go back to try their some of their other menu items! (Their cookies are great, too!)

Somehow Split Rail Eats popped up on Instagram when planning our trip to the mountains. I followed their page and added it to my list of lunch spots.
We stopped in around 2pm on a Thursday after visiting the mountains. There was nobody around. It didn’t even seem like they were open but they were! We ordered lunch (buffalo and regular chicken sandwiches). The sandwiches were really good, tots were okay-ish, kinda had an odd taste. I would recommend fries instead. The sweet tea wasn’t great either, get a soda.
We only ever saw one employee but he did great (cashier, cook, server). I think I went in with too high of expectations? Maybe it was the slow time of year that made it disappointing? It’s a drive out of the way but I would give it a second chance in the busier season.

Thanks for giving us a try. It definitely can get pretty quiet in the area during certain times of the day - especially in February/March. Hopefully, next time, you enjoy your food and drinks a bit more! We hopr to see you again.

We stopped here after going to the forbidden caverns and it hit the spot. Whole family got what they were craving and our daughter couldn’t stop drooling over the cheese steak sandwich. All was delicious and the staff was so delightful! Absolutely worth it!

My family (wife, two kids, parents) ate here in August of 2022. We loved the experience, and two things really stood out.
1. The food was very fresh. I question if any of it was ever frozen. My daughter had fried chicken tenders. They were very lightly breaded and extremely high quality chicken. Several of us had hamburgers or ground beef in some form. It was also obviously fresh and high quality. I also had a cold brew coffee that was on par or better than you’d get at a place that only serves coffee.
2. The restaurant was unique compared to other places in Gatlinburg. It doesn’t have a cookie cutter commercialized feel. It doesn’t play off of the country theme or any other cheap theme. It’s just a good restaurant with unique and fresh offerings.

I don’t give 5s easily, but this place deserves it. Not only is the food excellent, but the service is above and beyond. The prices may have been a LITTLE high, but I gladly pay extra for a local establishment that provides an outstanding experience. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Home cooked excellence. Melt in your mouth biscuits. Friendly, customer-focused service. Chicken batter seasoning is the best. In short, if you are in the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg Area, make a breakfast or lunch stop here.

Split Rail was exactly what we were looking for. We ate there for dinner on a Saturday night over Presidents’ Day weekend. It was a ridiculously crowded day in Gatlinburg and we were looking for some place out of the hustle and bustle. We knew covered bridge had a restaurant so we tried it out. Not only was it the only place we could find without a wait, but the food was also amazing.
The kids loved their chicken tenders and grilled cheese. (I admit I had some jealousy about how good the chicken tenders looked) My wife had the fried chicken sandwich which was absolutely delicious (thankfully she shared a bite) I had the Philly which was also very good.
Split rail hit the spot for us and we were so glad to not have to wait after a tiring day. The staff was super friendly and seemed genuinely glad we had stopped by!
We plan to go back today before heading home!

Wonderful restaurant that is following COVID guidelines. After a few hours in Gatlinburg in the crowds and general lack of enforced mask policy, Husband and I decided we wanted some place a little out of the way to eat lunch. Preferably where the employees were actually wearing masks. This place was amazing! Food was so good and reasonably priced and all the staff were extremely friendly.
