We visited while on vacation with our pup and sat out on the patio to enjoy a cool treat. Unfortunately the soft serve was down so Riley had her first hard dip vanilla cone. She still enjoyed it, no less! We had the ice cream...nachos which were excellent and such a fun dessert to have. The bees were a little abundant out on the patio, but you'll have that anywhere you have sweet treats. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and hope to try the donuts on the next trip!More

Great place in Gatlinburg for donuts. They have a wide variety of flavors and choices starting at 7am (the ice cream is mediocre).

We stopped here early in the day for an ice cream fix. Overall, it was good ice cream; not "knock your shoes off", but good ice cream nonetheless. This was a good treat stop.

Very clean, great selection delicious donuts and coffee AND ice cream. Evin does a great job running this place. We will be back.

I walked in and was greeted by a clean, full donut case. It was filled to the brim with picture perfect donuts! The donuts are large and have a great amount of toppings. We got 6: boston creme, creme filled, maple bacon and german chocolate....The donuts were tender, covered with frosting and stuffed with filling! Can you say YUM? This place beats donut friar by a country mile.More

We stopped and got doughnuts one morning and my 24 year old daughter couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful they were. We took some back to the rest of the family and they loved them. I had the Boston cream and it was delicious! We...will definitely be back for more.More

We must have gone on an off day. Minimal selection of donuts even though it was very early. The donuts were extremely greasy and we couldn’t eat them. Literally threw them away. My child asked about long johns (maple bars). The staff made fun of...his request saying it wasn’t long John silvers. We were looking for a quick bite to eat. Today wasn’t their best day.More

We stopped here because there were great reviews on TripAdvisor. The donuts were average. They didn't really stand out as anything spectacular. We ordered a dozen of different flavors. The ice cream was good. Prices were what I'd expect to pay.

We visited Mad Dog's the last 2 days we were in Gatlinburg, and I'm glad we don't live closer. I'd weigh 500 pounds and be much poorer! Their flavors of ice cream are hard to choose between. Lemon - strawberry - praline pecan - chocolate...are some of the ones we like best. They also have a 1 scoop ice cream surrounded by cotton candy ($6.99) that the kids liked, but was really messy. We bought donuts for tomorrow morning ($1,49 each) and again had a hard time deciding between yummy looking ones. The staff was friendly and didn't get impatient with us trying to decide. We got there around 7 pm and there wasn't a line, but by the time we finished eating at the outside tables the line was out the door.More

Donuts are $2 but really have really good flavors. Shakes and ice cream are good but a small milk shake was almost $7!!! Ice cream is around $3.5 a scoop. It is not budget friendly. But I must admit it did taste good.

This was a last minute stop. I had never heard of Mad Dog. OMGOODNESS! This is the best ice cream I have ever had. Highly recommend stopping here before you leave the area.

After a long day of hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, our family stopped at Mad Dog on the way back to our cabin. We all enjoyed the ice cream and took some fun pictures by the bears outside the building.

My husband and I visited Mad Dog's Creamery and Donuts for dessert one night and it was one of the culinary highlights of our time in Gatlinburg. The ice cream was delicious! We also got a few fried pies that we had that night and...the next morning for breakfast, and they were excellent. The service was good too. Definitely stop by here if you're in the area!More

When I say I'm a huge fan of donuts, I mean I'm a HUGE FAN OF DONUTS! So, when we drove by and saw "Mad Dog's Creamery & Donuts" we know we had to go. Great ice cream, amazing, homemade donuts with unique flavors, and...all in a gorgeous location. Prices were good and the flavors were on point and if you sit outside you get to watch a creeping creek flow by without a care in the world. It's a beautiful location about two blocks (?) outside of downtown Gatlinburg and we will definitely be returning next time we visit. Key things to note: Great for families and kids. The later you go the sparcer the parking (due to spillover from a nearby restaurant). Grab some donuts to go, as well. Eat outside. Enjoy!!More
