We looked for ice cream, finding this place to have good reviews. I ordered the Smoky Mountain Chocolate in a waffle cone and my wife had Strawberry Cheesecake. The single scoop was packed in, a good portion. We sat outside along the creek and had an awesome tasting ice cream cone!! Well worth the visit and we recommend! We checked out the selection of donuts, deciding to wait for another day.....
Another day turned out to be the NEXT day! I picked out the dreamsicle and coconut cream donuts and my wife selected the maple bacon and banana pudding. OMG! All of them were amazing. We aren’t donut connoisseurs by any means, but try a new donut shop everywhere we go on vacation. These donuts are by far the BEST we have had! A must try! Get more than one, you won’t regret it!

During our weekend trip to Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, I was craving funnel cake having not had one in many, many years and so we ended up at Mad Dog’s Creamery and Donuts and I was not disappointed. We had been walking up and down the main drag in Gatlinburg and realized we probably were not going to be able to make the trek up the hill to this place which is about a mile from downtown on the left, so we got in the car and drove there and it was actually really nice to be away from the crowds for a little while. The place is clean and there are tables and benches upon which to sit and eat outside.
I got a funnel cake with powdered sugar and whipped cream along with a coconut cream pie doughnut. They were both excellent. I think that their prices are on the high end, but I’ll never complain about paying too much for an excellent product. Will definitely go back again.

When I say I'm a huge fan of donuts, I mean I'm a HUGE FAN OF DONUTS! So, when we drove by and saw "Mad Dog's Creamery & Donuts" we know we had to go.
Great ice cream, amazing, homemade donuts with unique flavors, and all in a gorgeous location.
Prices were good and the flavors were on point and if you sit outside you get to watch a creeping creek flow by without a care in the world. It's a beautiful location about two blocks (?) outside of downtown Gatlinburg and we will definitely be returning next time we visit.
Key things to note:
Great for families and kids.
The later you go the sparcer the parking (due to spillover from a nearby restaurant).
Grab some donuts to go, as well.
Eat outside.
Enjoy!!

We visited Mad Dog's 2x during our visit to this area. The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. They serve a large variety of hand dipped flavors and soft serve as well. They make cotton candy and ice cream concoctions which looked crazy, but people were buying them! The ice cream was delicious and they don't skimp on the hot fudge; Kudos for that! There are tables inside and shaded tables outside. A good pic for sure.

My husband and I each got 2 donuts and a coffee-it was hard to choose because they all looked so good and the ones we chose were delicious. In retrospect, we should have bought a dozen and taken them with us! We were there on a Friday morning and the gentleman who waited on us was efficient and friendly. Will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

We visited Mad Dog's the last 2 days we were in Gatlinburg, and I'm glad we don't live closer. I'd weigh 500 pounds and be much poorer! Their flavors of ice cream are hard to choose between. Lemon - strawberry - praline pecan - chocolate are some of the ones we like best. They also have a 1 scoop ice cream surrounded by cotton candy ($6.99) that the kids liked, but was really messy. We bought donuts for tomorrow morning ($1,49 each) and again had a hard time deciding between yummy looking ones. The staff was friendly and didn't get impatient with us trying to decide. We got there around 7 pm and there wasn't a line, but by the time we finished eating at the outside tables the line was out the door.

We came here for ice cream on the last night of our vacation. The line was long, but it moved pretty quick. The staff wasn't overly friendly. They were sure to hurry you through the line since it was busy.
The portions are small, and their prices are expensive. The ice cream was ok. It really wasn't much different than the ice cream you'd buy at the grocery store. It was $6 for a double scoop of ice cream. I really felt that I would have been just as good to go to the grocery store and buy a gallon of ice cream for us to eat.

My boyfriend and I visited Mad Dog's on our recent trip to Gatlinburg. Nice location away from the craziness of downtown Gatlinburg. There was also free parking. There were plenty of flavors of ice cream and donuts. I ordered two scoops of the rainbow sherbet in a cup and my boyfriend ordered a black cherry malt. My ice cream was delicious but my boyfriend said his malt just tasted like vanilla. There were a few tables outside to sit at. Overall, a cute ice cream shop that I would definitely recommend.

We stopped and got doughnuts one morning and my 24 year old daughter couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful they were. We took some back to the rest of the family and they loved them. I had the Boston cream and it was delicious! We will definitely be back for more.

We must have gone on an off day. Minimal selection of donuts even though it was very early. The donuts were extremely greasy and we couldn’t eat them. Literally threw them away. My child asked about long johns (maple bars). The staff made fun of his request saying it wasn’t long John silvers. We were looking for a quick bite to eat. Today wasn’t their best day.

Donuts are $2 but really have really good flavors. Shakes and ice cream are good but a small milk shake was almost $7!!! Ice cream is around $3.5 a scoop. It is not budget friendly. But I must admit it did taste good.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning about 9am. We got a 1/2 dozen of the assorted. Should have gotten a lot more because they were amazing. My fave was the Maple Bacon while my teenage daughter's Banana Pudding donut was so good that it's making record time around socail media right now.
The staff was very friendly and we were in and out in less than 5 minutes. This will now be a "must" for us every time we are in Gatlinburg!

This was our second trip to Gatlinburg, and our second trip (and third) to Mad Dogs. We have had a root beer shaved ice twice (more like a snow cone), milkshakes, sundaes, ice cream and donuts.
Everything is good and the staff are really friendly and work hard. We were even recognized when we came in the second time this week. I don’t know if that was a good thing or not. LOL!!

Perfect way to end our trip to Gatlinburg. Stopped on our way out of town, and got half a dozen delicious donuts! No pictures to show because we ate every last bite. We ordered the chocolate cake, coconut cream, raspberry filled, fried apple pie, angel dream and the apple bear paw. Good thing the bear paw was enormous, every bite made you want more it was so good! Donuts were super fresh! Easy to get to and avoided the craziness of the main strip. They also have coffee and ice cream!

Ended up stopping here multiple times on my last trip to Gatlinburg. The donuts are incredibly flavorful, and the variety is amazing. I didn't have the ice cream, but it looked good, although a bit expensive. I definitely recommend making a quick stop here for some tasty donuts if you're in the mood for them.
