Food & beer tasted good but it took a while for my server to get me a check & then a working pen. Could have been out half an hour earlier but that’s all.

Wanted to try this place and its food. I had just been up the Gunflint trail and was returning to Grand Marais around 1500 hrs, so I was hungry. I went inside and ordered to go. Wild rice soup was the soup of the day,...so I ordered that, an order of garlic and mozzarella bread and a medium sausage pizza. About ten minutes later I was walking out with my lunch. Got back to the cabin and began the indulgence. First the soup, it was thin not creamy like most wild rice soup, but it had lots of wild rice in it. It was a-tad bit peppery but passed muster at a 3. Second, the garlic/mozzarella cheese bread was huge slices of eight. Mmm man they were good. I would give them a 4.5. Third, the pizza. Nice thin crust, a good sauce, very good sausage. I’d give it a 4. Overall I would give My Sisters Place a 4. The inside looked to be comfortable and it also has a bar.More

We have been coming here for years but haven't stopped in since before the pandemic. Since then a few things have changed. The coleslaw is not the same and I don't think it is made in house anymore, the same is true of the French...fries that came to the table terribly over cooked and hard. Also, like many places they have started tacking on a service fee to use my credit card, which is fine, I just tip 15% instead of 20% to offset the expense.More

Good food and beer, and friendly waitstaff. We’re repeat customers. Unfortunately, if you like Italian sausage, it’s not in the calzone. The meat in the calzone was akin to a flavorless, gray meatball. We were told by our waitress that the cook uses a blend...of hamburger and Italian sausage to appeal to those who do not like Italian sausage. Well, this is not indicated on their menu, and it’s a big deal when you’re expecting a certain flavor profile. Had it been noted on the menu that it was a blend we would not have ordered it.More

Food was good, however the prices listed on their website are NOT the same as on the menu in restaurant. We would have gone elsewhere to eat, but were hungry and did not have a second place picked out. They did have a good selection...of burger flavors and good portion sizes.More

Large menu with a nice variety. Tried and true food. Never have had a bad meal here. Excellent value. Outdoor patio is a bit awkward as it is in the parking lot area as you pull up.

Recommended by our hotel owner Very busy! Wait time was about 30 min. Good beer selections. Staff was very accommodating. Killer Onion Rings were amazing. Walleye sandwich was tasty. Wild rice salad... It was paddy rice, not wild rice. Asked our server why, since the...Grand Portage Tribe is just up the road, they don't buy local, REAL wild rice. She gave us several reasons, none of which made sense... including most people don't know the difference. Hmmm... overall, good place to eat!More

I tried the wild wild rice sandwich and a blueberry malt. The malt contained lots of fresh fruit. It was perfect on a warm day and was big enough to share. The malt was topped with real whipped cream. The wild rice sandwich seemed to be...just wild rice held together with melted cheese. The burger came with an abundance of French fries. The bar stools are covered in bumper stickers. There are lots of license plates hanging on the wall.More

Stopped for dinner tonight. Menu looked good! I ordered a Juicy Lucy Burger. Supposedly “stuffed with grilled onions and cheese”. Burger was well done but not very hot . Minimal onions and had to search for the cheese. No other toppings. Cole slaw was quite...mediocre. My wife got a plain burger. Again, well done and not very hot, and fries. Fries were mixed - cold and Luke warm. She did get replacements which were much hotter. Also had a chocolate shake. Not bad except for the price. $8 I think! Should have gone elsewhere.More

We had high hopes. Menu looked great! Well right off the bat we had issues. We were seated and waited about 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. He took our drink order and food order at that time. Water and other drink order...should have been taken way sooner then that. Our table got a few appetizers; the cheesey pickles were not good they used a huge pickle spear that comes out of the egg roll and cheese was non existent. Got the cheese curds they were your typical frozen not from scratch curd. The 4 adults all got burgers, all different varieties. They were all way over cooked, dry and flavorless. So disappointing. Then sat for I don’t know another 20 minutes while no one noticed we had been done to bring our check. We got up to go find someone to pay. We got the excuse they were slammed….don’t tell me that it was not that busy nor was that the customers fault. Our tables bill was $170 and normally I always leave 20 percent tip not this time. Not even close. If we are back in the area we won’t be returning.More

Over the years we’ve eaten here a lot, and I think each time we had burgers. Today we had a pizza. First couple pieces were amazing. Lots of cheese, delicious sauce, great homemade sausage. Wonderful service. As the pizza cooled a bit the crust got...very soggy, which was not as appetizing The texture of the crust even underwent a change, otherwise I’d give it a 5.More

They were short help, which I understand is going to happen in a somewhat isolated small town. This is not a conjecture. I overheard the staff talking behind the bar. Therefore, we had to wait a while to be acknowledged and seated. Our food took...a long time to arrive and the appetizer came at the same time as the main course, which somewhat defeated the purpose of getting an appetizer. The waitress was friendly. The bathroom was clean. Prices were reasonable. The pizza was good. I would have given three stars for the service but understand the labor shortage issues.More

We had to come here and try the pizza. There is a pizza place called Angeno’s that used to have several locations in Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park, but is now down to one location. We grew up eating it and it is my wife’s...favorite. How this is relevant to My Sisters Place is that the pizza boxes at Angeno’s say that the same pizza was available here, 200+ miles away. The pizza did not disappoint! The service was great and we loved the ambiance. The only knock is that we are late eaters and this small town closes up a little early for our taste. Until I try their other food I can’t quite give them a 5, but I would give this place a 4.5 if I could.More

We try to give grace to staff shortages.. but while there seemed to be one server there was maybe 5 tables. I paid $20 for a burger that was waaaay overcooked and lost in the bun. I had a bison burger topped with cream cheese...and olives. I only tasted the toppings in two bites. Hardly any meat for $20. My fries were completely cold w zero salt. Our ketchup was empty the server disappeared with it forever. I ended up grabbing one from the next table. I couldn’t voice my food quality concerns because the server never came back to check……we waited and waited. Finally went to the front to pay our tab. Was not asked how things were & clearly there was an issue since we had to hunt down our bill. I volunteered that we had issues that was met w a shrug… that’s it nothing like an offer to adjust the bill or a scoop of ice cream. Not sure how this rated as nearly 5 stars.More

The Aspen Lodge staff recommended this place for dinner. We had the Meatlovers pizza, which has thier homemade pizza crust and sausage. It was amazing! They have an extensive menu but we just had pizza and side salads which were very good also.

Grand Marais is extremely busy this time of year so I would imagine there would be some waiting time to get in, but they do have a lot of seating so maybe it won't be to long. You could call them at (218) 387-1915 to check... More

I am not sure either, you could probably go on their website see if they have an email or facebook page and ask them the question.
