We stopped here for lunch during a long day of driving along the North Shore. What a wonderful place to eat and relax for awhile. The decor of the dining room is amazing, the food was very good, and resonably priced. Afterwards, we walked outside on the grounds and along the lakefront. This is well worth a stop if you... More

Had heard that they had a great brunch and we were not disappointed. I've been to others that had more selections, but they had a nice assortment and everything was delicious. Was a little surprised that beverages were not included, but it wasn't a big deal.

We are so glad we didn't pass up this gem. If you are in the Grand Marais, MN area don't miss this one of a kind restaurant. Be sure to read it's interesting history. We will definitely stop again when we are in the area.

We stopped after tackling Mt Josephine hike , the food was delicious, our waitress very helpful. And the atmosphere of this lodge was awe inspiring. Just fun place to imagine bygone eras of people wandering around grounds.....The only downfall was rhubarb cheesecake.... yes, rhubarb! Who does that to cheesecake? Were there no strawberries or raspberries within 100 miles?

Try to save time around your noon meal to stop at Naniboujou Lodge and Restaurant on Lake Superior between Grand Marais, MN and Thunder Bay, ON. The place will leave you wondering where they came up with the ideas for paint, stone work and detailed carving. The food was fine, no better no worse than your typical shoreline supper club.... We ate breakfast there and the wait staff were top notch, friendly and attentive. The French toast was fantastic and the cinnamon rolls were about the size of my head. Definitely one to share with others. Will definitely be going back soon!

When you walk into the dining room it is beautiful! But when you find out there is no liquor license it's a very big letdown. Food was good.

I went with my 89 year of mother and two of her like-aged friends for lunch. We all enjoyed the experience of viewing the brightly painted Grand Hall and reading about the history of its construction. The food was delicious! We all ate a sandwich in which the bread was make with wild rice and cranberries. A hiking trail across... More

The dining room décor is enough to cause you a reason to come, but the food matches the décor and keeps you coming back. Breakfast is awesome with what I call oatmeal. The whole is menu is perfect, topped off with the Danish cream, a must have. The prices are a bit higher but well worth it for the total... More

This is a lodge and dining room. It was established in about 1920 and meant to be a private lodge, and suffered because of the Depression in 1929. It reopened in 1930's. It is decorated throughout with Cree Native American designs and colors. It has never been repainted and is in excellent condition today. This is a fine dining room.
