We went for the Mother's Day brunch and it wasn't the best but the atmosphere and décor and friendly service made up for what the food lacked. We've never ordered off their regular menu, just had a buffet style brunch, I'd be willing to give them another try just to see that beyond colorful dining room again.

the staff is wonderful, the ambiance is incredible, the place is beautiful and most of all the food is Terrific. Great outdoor space to sit and enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior. We will return for sure.

We stayed the weekend. Naniboujou is so cozy and informal, we just loved it. Wore our slippers down to the dinning room and sitting room. The staff was great. The food was great! The best is just the casual atmosphere. We loved lounging by the fireplace and visiting with the other guests. Going back for sure!

Spending the morning hiking we decided to stop for lunch...I had never heard of this place and it was fairly busy for a mid-week October lunch time. The menu had a variety of items, and not being an adventurous eater, at first I thought I might not find something I'd like, but I went for the Dempsey Bleu (Chicken/Ham &... More

Skimpy romaine salad plate followed by very basic overcooked pounded apricot chicken breasts, a few overcooked baby carrots and a heap of dry mashed potatoes. Coffee and a simple yogurt/berry parfait to complete. NOT what I expected for $40 a plate. It was a mistake to drive here for that dinner to see the colourful dining hall and beautiful fireplace.... Once again, we stayed for four days and truly love this quiet place in the woods on Lake Superior. First visit was 29 years ago and yearly or twice yearly never is boring or mundane. Food is very good with lovely service and Nancy lovingly watching all!!!! Thank you Tim and Nancy

My wife and I have driven, biked, and hiked past this place for decades. It's too bad we were so reluctant to stop; we missed a lot of good breakfasts. The cinnamon rolls are stupendous and about the size of a hub cap. The blueberry pancakes and coffee are as good as any on the North Shore. Beyond the food,... More

I've never seen anything like the cinnamon rolls here, they are huge and taste as good as they look. The lodge restaurant has a very large fireplace and is painted in its original native design patterns. Beyond the rolls the rest of our breakfast was also excellent. Take a walk to their beach to burn off some of the calories!

My husband and I had lunch here on a recent trip up north. The food was excellent and good service. Love the history! We want to come back next year and spend the weekend.

I have been driving past this place for the last 50 plus years and this is the first time I have ever stopped, I did not know what I have been missing, hope I have the chance to visit there again. Food was great for lunch, had a tour of the place great view of Lake Superior, did not get... More
