I had a delightful walleye dinner at Loon Lake Lodge Restaurant. Charming historic lodge, overlooking Loon Lake. My walleye was done to perfection, accompanied by fresh asparagus spears, salad, wild rice, and wonderful warm bread, and cake! Perfect in every way!

My husband and I stopped in at the Loon Lake Lodge because we heard they had the BEST SWEDISH PANCAKES on the Gunflint Trail. Their breakfast had ended, but we were warmly greeted by the young Owner's who graciously said, "Come in! We'd love to make some pancakes for you!" And they did.The service was delightful as we sat in... More

I love that we can come and feel like we are camping yet have yummy and delicious meals that I don't have to cook. Breakfast was amazing...everything I had was so yummy, and you can have seconds! Its relaxed and cozy. Dinner is also great, the bread is warm and fresh and I love that everything has a touch of... More

Not only is Loon Lake Lodge the best place to eat on the Gunflight Trail it now outshines ALL of the restaurants in the town of Grand Marais, MN. The Chef is world class and the entree's that include Ribs and Duck and Wild Caught Salmon and ESPECIALLY THE WALLEYE are out of this world. He is a wonderful addition... More

I haven't stayed at Loon Lake for years, but it is a place of charm and character, with wonderful cabins and a great fishing lake. You can eat in the Lodge, or better yet, get a housekeeping cabin and live on your catch! I remember long afternoons on the dock with a book, paddling peacefully in a canoe, or swimming... More

We liked our meal so much that we went back a second night after having a mediocre dinner in Grand Marais. We all had the walleye and it was delicious - wonderfully breaded and cooked perfectly. The accompanying wild rice and veggies were also great, and a light yummy dessert was an added bonus! Our daughter is vegetarian and so... More

We enjoyed a fabulous late September dinner at the lodge, sitting in a 1920s log structure, warming with the fire roaring in the wood stove, watching eagles gliding over the lake, and smelling the food from the kitchen with great anticipation! This is a charming place, service is attentive and friendly, and the food is delicious and abundant. Every dinner... More

The service was perfect; the food delicious; the lake setting was beautiful. We had the barbecue ribs and the walleye dinners. The dinner included a few appetizers, bread, salad, main course, and a tasty lemon cake dessert. This was our best dinner on the Gunflint Trail!

The setting for Loon Lake Lodge is ideal...quiet and peaceful. Tom and Terri are wonderful hosts. You can sit by the lake, go in a canoe, use a pontoon...a place to get away! Our cell phones did not work making it even more perfect.
