While on a weekend road trip from Flagstaff to Southern Utah and back, we pulled off Arizona State Highway 89, spent a February Saturday night in Page, and ate dinner at the State 48 Tavern and Taproom. The Tavern is in a strip mall near Downtown Page and a short drive from the sea of hotels that have been, and are being, built in Page. We arrived on an off-season weekend night at 7:00 PM and had a 10-minute wait for a table. The friendly hostess escorted us to a small table tucked in the rear of the Tavern where one of the seats faced a large screen TV showing a distracting Monster Truck Jam all evening. The interior has the new pseudo warehouse/factory décor with a concrete floor and walls covered with brick, sheets of corrugated metal and wooden packing crates/pallets. Weather permitting, the front of the Tavern has a large glass garage style door that opens to a large patio facing the parking lot. The menu offers primarily Tavern food including different burgers and steaks that can run up to $50.00 a plate. Our waitress took our food and drink orders quickly, brought one drink from the bar and then went MIA. We had to flag her down for our soft drink order while waiting for our meals. We both ordered their basic burger for $12.00 each, one with Avocado Slices substituted for French Fries and one with Sweet Potato Fries and without a bun since they do not offer a gluten free option. Once the food arrived, we had to ask for condiments and were never offered drink refills. The Burgers and Fries were good but not over the top. The entire time we were there, the place was full, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We do not see ever ordering a $50.00 steak in this place. When we go all out at $50.00 or more per plate, we like linen table clothes with a nice table setting, a pleasant sophisticated atmosphere and attentive service, none of which would be included with their $50.00 steaks. Our bottom line, the food was good but a little pricey, and the atmosphere was lively. If you are looking for a decent bar with good burgers and cheap well drinks, and are not in a hurry, this place might be worth a try. This is located at a small strip mall. We did not expect too much but their steak was excellent. The price rage was $28 and 50 which comes with soup or salad and one side dish. The beef slider was very good. All wine bottles are $32 and there are 4 white and res selections.

We ordered sunset mules (4/5 stars), portabella mushroom and avocado sandwich (3/5), kimchi Reuben sandwich (3.5/5), and a Caesar salad (3/5). Overall not bad, but very forgettable. Service was very good. Price was ok ($65 before tip). Wouldn’t go back before trying others if we were in the area again.

We tried this restaurant in Page after a busy day. The food was generally good and the service was excellent. I had the salmon and asparagus, and my daughter had the shrimp tacos. Both were good. A friend had the pork chop which was overcooked. When the waitress asked about our meals, and my friend replied, she offered a discount for the overcooked pork which was nice of her. I would eat here again.

We were both in the mood for a steak and this seemed to be our best option. We both had flat iron steaks that were cooked perfectly and really tasty. Dinners came with salad and veggie plus a side. I had a baked potato and my husband had potato salad. The food wand service were excellent...however the seats were uncomfortable and music way too loud. Dinner with tip was $88.

Came here due to good reviews, and they are well deserved. I had the sirloin steak. The steak was good for a $28 steak, the baked potato was perfect, and the broccoli was cooked just right. And the salad was very good. My wife had the Carne Asada Tacos. She thought they were good, but said they would have been too spicy for me. I like things pretty mild. The service was great. We arrived just before 6 pm and there were very few people seated. Twenty minutes later, the place was full.

We came here about 5:30pm on a Monday in January. They appear to have a restaurant side and a bar side and we told the woman at the podium we were comfortable with either and she seated us in the bar. We immediately noticed the pallet style tables and cool industrial looking light fixtures. We were provided menus and immediately began looking them over. Our server came over and asked us if we had any questions and she was helpful in providing recommendations. My wife decided on the Strawberry Basil Salad with Grilled Chicken and I decided on the Cowboy Burger with Fries. This feels like a local restaurant and bar where there are a good amount of locals and probably a good amount of out-of-town visitors like us. Our food arrived quickly and looked yummy. My wife was impressed by her salad and really enjoyed it minus the fried brie croutons which she opted not to eat. She commented on how she had never thought about adding shredded coconut on a salad but thought it was great. I frequently order Cowboy Burgers in various restaurants and while this was good it was not mind blowing. The French fries were crunchy and I enjoyed them. Overall this is worth the stop!

We’d just completed 15 hours of traveling by airplane and car from New Jersey, and all we wanted was a decent dinner before collapsing into bed for the night. It was a Saturday evening around 7 pm, and two other places we tried had nearly a one-hour wait for a table. State48 looked full, but there was a table for us. You know how you might feel suspect of a restaurant that has no wait while others around have a long wait? Happily, there was no need for concern. I can’t imagine why there was such a wait other places but not here. We enjoyed our meal and we’re glad we stopped in. An unpretentious restaurant/bar with a surprisingly imaginative menu. My wife enjoyed the cranberry walnut salad, and I dug into the State48 burger, which they perfectly prepared to my requested medium rare. I chose the side of potato salad over fries, and I’m glad I did; it was obviously homemade and definitely delicious. Extra bonus for us is they sat us next to the huge projection TV screen during a college basketball March Madness game, which is exactly what we would’ve been watching if we’d gotten takeout and eaten in our hotel room. Good basic food, elevated. Prepared well and served with a smile. Great job, State48!

Very tasty strawberry Brie salad with toasted coconut. Burgers got rave reviews for being loaded and having great caramelized onions. Page isn’t really isn’t a foodie town but we really enjoyed this spot. Also good Utah microbrews and very helpful and friendly staff. Food came very fast with multiple people bringing food and cleaning things away so they aren’t short staffed. Also nice local art on the wall and available for purchase.

Was promptly seated and server, Sky, greeted us and took our order. Once food was ordered, we waited over an hour for it to arrive! Sky was apologetic and informed that the kitchen was backed up. However, we were not alone in waiting for our food. It seemed no one received their food. All tables received food simultaneously. While waiting we took note that the staff brought a pizza, from another establishment, back to the kitchen! Not a good sign! Manager was not proactive, as he should have been, in offer any compensation. We were not the only table negotiating our bill, which included $1.50 for a pretzel bun we requested instead of a free soup or salad.

We were told the food was good, a local favorite, but it was not, The mac and cheese was so grainy; it was like there was sand in it, my steak was so overcooked I could not eat it. My grandson's 40.00 ribeye had so much fat on it, way more than normal and again was charred to a crisp. The baked potatos were so over cooked that the insides literally could not be eatten. We thought we would score with the lemon brussel sprouts but they were so undercooked that you had to cut them in little pieces after we cut them up and tried to eat them they were so salty it was impossible. Final insult was that nobody cared, we rarely saw our wait staff and we waited over an hour for our food nobody would address the food issues and they expected full payment. we spent 158.00 for food none of us could eat and 30.00 for a tip, to a staff that treated us horribly. I won't EVER go back

Love the layout, which includes multiple booths and some interesting decor that draws on nature and machinery. The beer battered avocados make a tasty starter. The salad we got was basic. The burger was very tasty, and the portabello sandwich was on par as well. Pleasant and efficient service capped it off.

We liked the vibe of this place. Enjoyed the local, craft beer. The dishes we ordered were very good... kimchi fries, wings, and the cranberry walnut salad with grilled chicken. The smaller size was plenty for the two of us to share. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

After a long day of driving, we searched for a place to grab a quick bite. Food was subpar and the service poor. They forgot my salad even after I reminded them 2 times. It never came. Our waiter got busy and forgot about us. They had a line at the door, we were done and ready to leave but couldn’t find our waiter to close the check. We flagged down others but they just told us they’d look for our server. We didn’t care, we just felt bad sitting there not eating when others were waiting to be seated.

The staff was amazing. And the restaurant was clean. The menu is kind of simple, but they were able to kind of accommodate me. So it may seem a little pricey with entrees, but they come with two sides and a soup. I have a very sensitive stomach and was able to get the grilled salmon that you usually pay for with a salad. It is a little small, but was thankful they did that for me. The loaded sweets were very tasty, but I asked for them without beans which they accommodated. I also ordered the rum punch which was very flavorful. My friends enjoyed the onion rings, loaded pork fries, and the cranberry walnut salad with the salmon and the jalapeño margarita. we loved the atmosphere and the staff. Once they knew I had a sensitive stomach they were sure to ask if other seasonings would be ok. We had to top of the night with dessert which is not listed on the menu. The strawberry cheesecake and fried ice cream sandwich was a huge hit. We will be back for more good food.
