We've had the good fortune to visit many of the national parks, and the ones that offer lodges and restaurants are usually pretty similar. That is likely because they are all run by a couple of hospitality companies. Given they tend to have fairly captive audiences, we have found the food to be "good", but rarely much better than that.... More

Granted there are no other dining options without finding transportation if you are staying at the Glacier Bay Lodge, but we found the food and service to be very good.

I have visited many national parks. They are all expensive. But the staff are always super friendly and helpful. Some of the staff at Glacier Bay act like they don't care whether you are happy, comfortable, accommodated, etc. one young lady was just rude. We were treated better by the bus driver. They should put him in the dining room.

We were able to eat one dinner and it was good. After the whale trip we couldn't get back to the lodge for an hour and half on our anniversary. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.\

We stayed at the lodge a few days while checking out the sites at Glacier Bay. The restaurant at the lodge is the only place to eat unless you have transportation, which we did not. The food is ok but very pricing. The wait staff was excellent though and the views were great. We kind of expected it to be... More

Food was excellent. The chef even came over to explain silver salmon to us. You need to make reservations ahead of time.

The only place to eat in the area so there is a captive audience. Food is pretty standard and a little pricey for what you receive. We had the halibut fish and chips and halibut with Dungeness crab. Staff are excellent and friendly.

The food choices and preparations were excellent as well as the staff. Reservations needed. Wifi poor in the restaurant area.

Being only place to eat in The Lodge there is a captive audience. Need to book evening meal times or you will wait. Food is pretty good though is a little pricey for what you receive. The wait staff are very friendly and outgoing though a couple of them are either new at the game and out of their depth... More

Stayed and ate at Glacier Bay Lodge. Best Halibut Alyeska I have every eaten. Being a chef, I easily figured on the recipe and added that dish to my restaurants in Park City, UT and Phoenix Az Whoever said just pack your own meal instead obviously does not know good food and has no restaurant experience.
