Ordered a Taco Salad, it was a fried flour tortilla "bowl", about the size of a corn tortilla and it barely had any filling, The used the cheapest, most greasy hamburger meat (you know the kind that's more fat than meat), maybe a few spoons...of beans; tiny chopped tomatoes and lettuce, with some black olives and a spoon of sour cream on top. It tasted "fine", but for the price I thought I was going to get something bigger. The person I had dinner with ordered a "fish Plate" which was three, small "triangles" of fish; (they kind you get when you buy frozen fish fillets) and it was served with a 1/4 cup of coleslaw and 8 (Eight) french fries. Another person I was dining with ordered "carnitas", which came with rice and beans. The "Spanish Rice" was pink, not red, like you see in most Mexican restaurants. PINK! like they couldn't even use a whole can of tomato sauce to cook this rice. Then I nearly hit the floor when I paid the bill. Over $35.00 for three people to eat? Not worthy! Will not go back.More

My partner and I had a meal here last week. The service was very friendly and attentive. He had a combo plate, which he thought was pretty good. I had carnitas tacos. They were OK, not super flavorful, but not bad. The meal was filling...and the salsa was quite good. We would eat here again.More

I had the #15, Chimichanga plate w/ground beef, along with the red sauce. It was a very delightful. The portion size was unexpectedly large, the red sauce was well made, flavorful, and had a great creamy texture. (made from red chile pods, not red chile...powder). The beans and rice were first rate, and the salsa was old style (fine ground) with a nice spicy kick to it. The decor is old style Mexican cafe -- velvet paintings -- etc with some toned down Mariachi music playing. The waitress and cashier were very polite and professional.More

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Breads and cookies baked in-house. Owner operated with friendly staff. Every thing my wife and I have tried for both breakfast and lunch have been of superior quality and taste

I had lived in Silver City for year before I heard about the Kountry Kitchen. I had asked many people about recommendations for Mexican food and never heard it mentioned. Maybe it's a local secret? Most of the restaurant crowd seems like locals. What a...great surprise for us. The view alone is worth the visit. It's just a few hundred feet off of the main Hwy 180 in town behind a few motels. I went for the Chimichanga. The shredded beef filling is my favorite and I order smothered in Red Chile Sauce and cheese. It's so good I have never tried any other dishes.More

Kountry Kitchen has been a favorite of our for years but recently it seems to have gone downhill. Food was okay but certainly not the best in town. Inadequate staff, only one young man to wait tables as well as bus them. He also worked...the register. It was not that busy and it took over 30 minutes to get our food. We needed to be somewhere else so we asked them to bring the food as a "to go" order which they didn't so so we were forced to gobble it down too quickly to enjoy it. Will probably go back but they need to get there service improved.More

This is a home town place that has been around for 45 plus years. Very good food and a good value. They gave my husband free lunch and dessert for his birthday.
