Stopped by for a late lunch. Very casual dining. Good food, reasonable prices, friendly service. If you avoid gluten, be aware that both the red and green chile contain gluten and the enchiladas use flour tortillas. Staff provided the info once requested.

Its pretty good but not outstanding.

Part of my average rating is due to going in and there were some very loud people in there that seeded to have been drinking and the employees were joining in. Just a bit annoying and uncomfortable, for sure not how you get people back in. But as I said the food there is pretty good.

excellent Mexican food

The place is a dump but don't worry the food is excellent. Best bean tostadas and chili rellenos in town. I love to go there for lunch when I want a Mexican food fix.

A local place with good Mexican food

I had an enchilada and a tamale with red Chile and green chili. They were both wonderful. My husband loved the taco and enchilada, the locals obviously love it and we did, too

I was hungry so this was acceptable. It's right in the middle of the University so I shouldn't have expected much. You order at the counter them they bring your food. I ordered a green chile cheese burger with fries and iced tea. The fries were okay but the burger was barely passable. The lettuce was shredded and tasted a little off. There's nowhere to refill your drink and no one offered a refill. I couldn't wait to finish and get out. If you're a starving college student I guess this would be okay but I'll never be back.

Poor quality mexican food burgers

Food is barely acceptable. It is the mexican food and burgers done in the cheapest and most lazy way possible. Basically out of a can.

Great food and value

What a surprise. Just stopped in for lunch and got a Chile can Carne Burrito with an egg; smothered with green chile sauce. Wow! With an iced tea just over $6! This was really chunks of beef, not just hamburger. Tasted great and filled me up!

Very Good Mexican Food

We recently tried this place after noticing that they appeared to be doing a brisk business. We were not disappointed. While the facility and dining area are kind of tired, the food was excellent. We liked it so much we went back a week later. Again, quite good.

ok, so I am in silver city and looking for good food. I was told on Campus that the Grinder was 'excellent' .......... yep, it was 'college kid' food. So not so great but edible. I went with my children and husband. I want everyone to know, that if you don't want the counter girl making eyes at your man, don't take him with you. I was trying to place an order..... it took me literally yelling to get her to pay attention and take the order. Finally my husband said "you know what let me just go sit down". I can tell you that if this were a Hooters I would understand. But it isn't. My CHILDREN had to look at this disgusting sight. When my son said 'Mommy why is that ladies che ches poking out?" I had to explain that not ALL women respect themselves. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I don't care who that girl is related to, I just know that someone isn't watching what their employees are wearing. YUK!

The place to go for Menudo

You will not be disappointed if you like Menudo. If you like you can ask for "Extra Pansa". The menu has everything you would expect from a dinner, but the Mexican food fits right in Silver City that is an hour drive from Hatch, NM. I guarantee that is where they get the Green Chile and Red Chile they use.

Good burritos

This little cafe is always full it seems. The parking lot always has any number of cars and pickups. People like to meet and eat here. The food is served quickly in a simple down to earth atmosphere. I always enjoy their shredded beef burritos and add cheese and guacamole. Good place for a quick bite.

Superior breakfeast burrito

Saw "grinders" and didn't see the small sub-title, "mexican food". Thought we'd choose a sandwich but, the menu was yummy sounding anyway. Husband's menudo, rellenos, and horchata were great. I enjoyed my tamales even though they were made with polenta instead of masa.
