Really was looking forward to this experience based on reviews so naturally this was on top of my 'to do list' however I was disappointed as it did not live up to the hype. The Lamb texture was slimy, the Beans and Rice flavorless. I...did enjoy the side order of roasted potatoes and I like that there's a vegetarian and build a bowl option. It's a cozy spot but with limited seating. Perhaps, I'll give it a next try...More

We went to this place because it was strongly recommend by foodies. It did not disappoint. You build your own bowl: type of rice, type of protein, type of beans and final sauce. Looks like a family run business. We LOVED the fish.

The food and service was great! You have flexibility in making your own lunch bowl. I had the lamb shank and it fell off the bowl! They also make their own hot sauce.

A recent visit to New York brought my friend and I to The Food Sermon. The chef has an interesting story and my friend planned the trip around this restaurant because of the amazing story of the chef. This small quaint restaurant is an oasis...of goodness. The island styled rice bowls are a mixture of healthy and exotic seasonings to tickle your taste buds. The owner/chef was there to greet us and took time to share his fascinating story about the creation of his vision. You will not be disappointed. Do note that it is a small restaurant and you will have to share a community table if you decide to dine in, but the intimate relaxed setting will warm you over into staying to see the eclectic people that come in to dine. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Take some time to enjoy this island sermon that will really breathe life into your soul if you are a true foodie.More

The food was great! I would recommend this to everyone. And not so much on tje menu, so the choice is somewhat easier.

These island inspired rice bowls are filling, nutritious, and delicious. It's a definite bonus that the jerk chicken bowls are also gluten free. I look forward to my next visit!

Food Sermon's food is a blessing in every way. So tasty and fresh! I went there 2 times within 2 months and the level of quality remains excellent. I've tried the lamb bowl and the chicken bowl, both with chickpeas and coconut ginger sauce. Side...orders of roasted potatoes, sautéed mushrooms sautéed kale and steamed broccoli. My husband had the Salmon bowl. OMG! What can I say? Everything was just delicious! The place is small but inviting. Open kitchen. They have take out too. We also had the home made sorrel. Just perfect. Everything!More

I ordered the salmon with rice. The ingredients tasted clean and fresh. I will definitely go again. Just gotta plan around their closing time which varies according to dusk.
