Great atmosphere by the boardwalk! Russian being spoken everywhere adds to the kitsch factor! Great Food! Had the best beef stroganoff I've ever had. Borscht was way decent as well. Service was very good

If you don't enjoy people chain smoking around you while you eat in the restaurant, then stay away. The owner is so rude. She tells customers to be quiet. Servers smoke and then serve food without washing their hands. Tables are cleaned with filthy rags. Food is nothing special. It's deep fried, saturated in oil and butter. Check out Tatiana... More

Found this gem while walking the Boardwalk in Brighton. We enjoyed a three-course meal on the patio overlooking the beach. Our meal started with salads, (mine was a crab salad garnished with caviar, hubby's a Caesar) followed by a large bowl of flavorful vegetable soup, chock full of veggies. Our main course was a chicken cutlet "Volna", ground chicken with... More

A very few dishes that are homemade are decent, but the majority of the food is frozen, store bought prepared meals, just warmed up and dressed with an unsuitable sauce. Mashed potatoes are from powder and reheated many times. Salad dressing oil is cheap vegetable oil, not olive. An eel dish in the fish section is a store bought frozen... More

Cafe Volna had a lot of atmosphere, the smells were wonderful, food delightful. I brought home cookes and European treats for the family to enjoy.

The restaurant has an ideal location with a view of the boardwalk, and there is a parking nearby. However the food was mediocre. I ordered lamb and asked what would come on the side, and the waitress replied, "Vegetables:" Guess what - my lamb came with a big plate of raw onion. The service was not nice at all. The... More

Located on the board walk just off Brighton beach, this restaurant serves primarily Russian food (Menu is first in Russian then English). We ordered a chicken caesar salad which was made with a kale type vegetable and not lettuce, tasted great... The eatery is in a really nice location, smoking allowed outside at the boardwalk tables which is unusual.

Walking along Bright Beach, there is a great little authentic restaurant named Volna, with amazing selection of excellent dumplings, wonderful barley soup, and tons of atmosphere. The only surprise is how cheap their lunches are.

Yes, the service is slow, yes, you get looked at weirdly for not being Russian, but I don't care. The pickles are fabulous (pickled whole tomatoes! pickled whole cabbage leaves!) and the beer is cold. And you can smoke. Don't get me started on the views - you're basically on the beach. Random fact: Volna has a starring role alongside... More

It was Sunday morning when we went to Volna for brunch with our 1 year daughter. When we came in we could not even breathe from all the smoke. People were smoking everywhere even under "no smoking" sign. The restaurants was full of drunken low lives. It took a while to find a member of the staff. We were refused... More
