This place is expensive, so if you are on the budget - it's not for you. As per suggestion of my wife's cousin, we stopped here for a late lunch on Sunday. The place was busy, but the service was great. We started with Turkish Shepperd Salad (at $16.00), it was a huge portion, was enough for 4 of us (Turkish fresh baked bread arrived before). Cousin's husband ordered a Fish Soup with vegetables (at $15.00), his favorite. This place is famous for the seafood, but my wife is not eating it, so she ordered a Red Lentil Soup (at $11.00). She liked it. Both cousin and her husband ordered a Mediterranean Sea Bass (aka Branzino) at $35.00 the whole fish fried with the bones, but it's always the choice for them. I ordered a fillet of Flounder (at $33.00), came in as two pieces, fried with lemon on the side and little salad. There is a 25 to 35 minutes wait for the fish to come out, so it's not a quick lunch situation. I was trying to order some Turkish beer (out of stock), so all of us stayed with water. At the end they came out with the presentation of the sweets (pastries, cakes, cookies, ice creams), it was outstanding selections, we ordered some (now, I don't remember the names or the prices here). One thing to remember is parking on the street, I was amazed by my cousin's husband doing a parallel parking in very tight spot (I guess, after more the 30 years living in Brooklyn, you are supposed to learn it).

Liman Restaurant is an outstanding place for a good sized celebration. We had a wonderful time there. The staff was highly accommodating, pacing the service with us, kindly working our group, not pushing us to start ordering or to leave. Our party of 16 stayed for over four hours! That enabled us to enjoy our stay there. Other restaurants have asked us to commit to a 2 hour time limit or asked us to leave after about that amount of time. The waitstaff worked with us on ordering. They did not clear plates to encourage the next course. They waited for our signal. For a large party they encouraged us to start soon after noon, which we did at 12:30. We could see by the way tables were filling up by 12:30-1:00 that that was a good plan. The setting is lovely. There is a covered veranda overlooking Sheepshead Bay by a bunch of fishing boats. By our table was an exit to a dock which we went out on. We found out later that is a private dock. We were there before the fisherman came in, when we had to leave. It was incredible from the restaurant to watch fisherman bring in and filet a few 70 pound tunas. The patrons seem nice. Family and friends groupings. The dishes are a bit expensive: entrees in the 30’s, coffee $5. For a party of 16 we paid $1,300 including tax and tip. Best to pay with cash. They add a 3% fee with credit cards. Please note they added a 18% gratuity, and said that was enough. These people are not greedy. The food was OK. What I liked best was the hummus which was very creamy. The lava cake was delicious . The shepherd salad was enjoyed by all. People like the calamari. We tried the eggplant over tomato appetizer. Nothing special. Most people felt their entree was OK and perhaps good, nothing delicious. Of course you go to a restaurant for the food, but for us it was the time there that made it a special event. I highly recommend Liman for a party.

Please check your bill. We were overcharged, the bill contained the wrong charge for more than $30. This restaurant moved to Coney Island from the Sheepshead Bay area. Immediately, you can notice the negative difference in the location, which is right next to the extremely noisy cheap entertainment of Coney Island, crazy traffic, and inability to park without paying a large parking fee. The environment itself is repelling from this restaurant, with the noise, and crowds, along with the poorly trained staff who can not attend to refill the glasses with already overpriced cheap vine in the timely manner...

Love the new location on Surf Avenue on 2nd floor with great views of the amusement district and ocean. The food was delicious and service was top notch. I would say the pricing is up there, everything in life has gone up the past few years, but it matched the experience so it was well worth it. My family and I had a great overall experience.

Lots of fun to take the subway out to Sheepshead Bay. You go above ground for a lot of it. Walk from the subway to the water and along the way see how the immigrant community has transformed this part of Brooklyn. Food at Liman is delciious, the service is impeccable. Great fun

I’ve been coming to Liman practically since they opened in the mid-90’s. Atmosphere is lively and during nice weather the retractable roof opens for a pleasant outdoor waterfront dining experience. Their food is always fresh and cooked perfectly be it seafood or meats. Their appetizers are fantastic - authentic Turkish/Mediterranean. On this visit we enjoyed a huge salad and a plate of sliced baked potato chips. My main course was the Turkish meatballs which were delicious. The sides of rice and wedge potatoes were excellent. The portion was huge and I took home leftovers. Our table enjoyed a very nice white wine. Prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for - excellent quality. Service is professional and exceptionally attentive. The owner always comes out to say hello which is a nice touch. We are always treated like family.

We visit Liman about every month, have for years. They are a Turkish Fish restaurant on Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn. Their fish is ALWAYS the freshest. Always simply prepared. Frankly, even including the best fish restaurants in Manhattan, this is among the best. Their Shepherd Salad is a MUST. They also have terrific hummus and also an eggplant in tomato sauce appetizers. You cannot go wrong with any fish entree, Usually simply grilled or pan fried. My party had brook trout, red snapper, Chilean Sea Bass and flounder - all excellent. Dessert has to be their Kannafe. Its a shredded wheat and cheese warm dessert. Theirs is definitely the best anywhere.

I have eaten here many times. Some of my friends love it others like myself think it is just average. Most of the apps are good to very good. the entrees are good but not great. View is nothing special. Service is slow at best and not all waitstaff speak English.

We had a number of appetizers and enjoyed the Salads and fish. We topped off with a large Brazino for our entree. It was very y good and had a great view . Staff was very attentive and filled out water glasses right away and always made sure we had clean plates with the Fish we were eating. Very nice dessert.

Staying at the hotel just down the street on Emmons, the staff there highly recommended Limans for Dinner. When we came in, we were promptly greeted and served. Both my wife and I had the very fresh fish. She the Salmon and I the Flounder. It was very well prepared and we were well satisfied. Best of all, for a New York Restaurant, the prices were mid to high $20's for each entree. And the view was very nice.

I'll be very quick and wont take a lot of your time. Haven't seing in any other restaurants staff as bad as at Liman. They have no idea what is costumer service all about. Food is overcooked, french fries was so dark that you can easily think they haven't changed oil in days. Never going back! It's so many great restaurants in the area!!!! Liman is Not one of them
