We were staying at the Hotel BPM two blocks away, and my son who lives in the neighborhood suggested Ines Bakery for breakfast pastries. I bought 4 pastries and a large coffee for what I think is an amazing low price in NYC! Two turnovers...were great, but I'd skip the donuts. They look like donuts, but this is a Mexican bakery, and the donuts were a little "off" compared to the "regular American donut" - or give one a try if you like to experiment! Coffee ordered with no sugar was still crazy sweet, and my son warned me about this - so it must be in the way they prepare it. I was there early AM, but was impressed with the full Mexican menu for lunch or dinner. Check this place out any time of the day if you are in the neighborhood!More

Mexican bakery, really cheap and with some good stuff, such as cheese danish, empanadas, pastellitos, etc. The cooking is good as well, I suggest tacos y burritos!

We were tired after a long day sightseeing in the city. We stopped in here because we saw they had food. All 4 of us got an entree, a drink and dessert for $33. The food was made to order, and still hot by the...time we got to hour hotel (2 blocks away). The employees were friendly, and quick with a smile. There was a steady stream of customers who seemed like they go there a lot, which is impressive. I recommend getting the pupusas and the 3 leches cake.More
