This is a pretty mediocre and fairly expensive coffee place. The first time I came here, I asked for a decaf almond milk latte. They told me they don't have decaf espresso. What...? Seemed so odd to me. You are a coffee shop. But anyway,...they said they had chicory so I tried that. I've been to Cafe DuMonde, that's delicious. Cafe Du Monde this was not. I made a visible face when I took a sip of it. I had about 4-5 sips before I couldn't stand it anymore and threw it out. I decided to give it another shot with a regular almond milk latte. This was better but nothing special. This si the only thing that brought the rating up to 3 stars. There are much better coffee places nearby and I will be going to those from here on out. The prices here are just way too much for such a mediocre coffee.More
I've never had a bad experience here, but none have been particularly memorable either. Espresso tastes a bit burnt and the prices are high. Very limited seating for such a busy place. I haven't tried any of their food so maybe that would leave me...with a better impression.More
The coffee is Counter Culture and the Canteen does a great job of it. The secret part seems to be the egg and quinoa bowl, which is one of the best breakfasts in Brooklyn -- if you can find a spot to sit and eat...it ....More
This is my favorite neighborhood spot to grab a coffee. I often refer to it as my happy place. Great coffees and talented and friendly baristas.
It's teeny, so you may not find a table to cozy up into, so you'll have to time it...right.
Pro-tip: it gets very, very crowded during rush hour and when school gets out across the street (happy for all of the business they get!) but just make sure to time your visits right.More
