Our local host took us here when our first choice was overbooked, and were we lucky! We liked everything about this place, from the great service by the folk-costumed staff to the interesting, atypical beer list, to the wide variety of menu choices. But all those paled compared to the tastes, which, from the artisanal sausages to the pierogi, were... More

I grew up in Greenpoint and have seen so many great Polish restaurants come and go. A lot of the new ones lack the authentic charm and taste that I was used to. Karczma has been around since I can remember and has always been solid. The pierogies and chicken cutlet are delicious, but the real hero is the sauerkraut.... More

My daughters picked this one for my birthday. Being from Cleveland, the food on the menu is very familiar to me, but you don't see many places like this in NY City. Everyone was drinking Polish beer, I had a bottle of Pinot Noir from Burgundy with my Kielbasi and sauerkraut. The table order pirogi's for an appetizer. The waitresses... More

If you are traveling on the East River Ferry and stop in Greenpoint, visit Karczma! Excellent, authentic, plentiful, Polish fare at very reasonable prices. A bit off the beaten track, but worth the walk from the pier!

If you are in Greenpoint and you want try polish food for cheap price - stop there. Restaurant is small, dark, decorated with wood, outdated. But portions are huge. But be aware - it is really fatty!

We tried to get a table here at Karczma many times in the past months. A long line of waiting customers was always the reason for us to give up. Waiting in line to get food? I prefer to eat somewhere else. This time we got the table, ordered Hunter's Stew and Polish beer and everything was perfect. Delicious food... More

I've been coming here about 8 years....its 15 minutes from home. Convivial, reliable and affordable food you can tailor to the weather/season.Borschts (white and summer) are great. Salmon and trout are good...Appetizers...stuffed mushroom...white sausage aren't to be missed.Steak looks better than it is so wouldn't go there. Try bison vodka w apple juice for a classic/subtle spiced drink and any... More

Wonderful! Excellent Polish food and a lot of variety in types of dishes. The interior is decorated with items from a rural Polish setting. You almost forget you're in one of the biggest cities in the world. We intended just to get lunch but stayed a few hours. The employees are very friendly and wear traditional Polish countryside attire. Karczma... More
