This a neighborhood place that people keep coming back to whether they still live in the neighborhood or not. Pasta, seafood, meat or chicken are all served to perfection and Tony's rice balls are the best. The service is very good and there is a "family like" atmosphere which is something that is not easily accomplished.

Was there last night for a friends reunion. Santo greated everyone at the door and made you feel welcomed. The food was really good. Bolognase Sauce was excellant. Service was very good. Food was plentiful. Veal Parm was tender and tasty.

Authentic, home-style Italian cooking. My wife and I took a chance on this small, neighborhood restaurant because she wanted an Italian dinner. The owner welcomed us like old friends. Other diners seemed like they were indeed regulars to the establishment. We were encouraged to order a house specialty, rice balls, which I had never heard of in an Italian restaurant.... More

Everything about Red Rose is amazing. A true neighborhood gem. The food is like mom would make and the waiters are incredible. I wish I could eat here every week.

Stop into the Red Rose after a movie. It was around 6 so not busy yet. Atmosphere very friendly and after a while filled up with regulars. Had the smoked clams, large but chewy and stuffed pork chop, gigantic but too large to finish and a bit tough. The special drink was good. Must say my companions loved the food... More

The Red Rose of Carroll Gardens is and always will be the best for authentic Italian fare. I moved out of NYC last year and believe me, the Red Rose is dearly missed. Amazing food ( rice balls, eggplant and seafood pasta from heaven) and the friendly family atmosphere puts this little gem over the top.

Red Rose has excellent menu offerings, as well as daily specials. The seafood sauce is fabulous as well as the homemade pesto, which is not available all the time. Appetizers are varied and all portions are generous. We always leave with leftovers. House wine is very good and reasonably priced. One of my favorite restaurants in downtown Brooklyn.

From the fried calamari to the chicken parm, the Red Rose is a must while in Brooklyn. Don't forget to try the Broccoli Rabe and Italian Sausage; it's second to none!

If you are looking for traditional Brooklyn Italian fare this is the spot! Red Rose has been in the neighborhood for over 30 years and run by the same family for the entire time. Santo, who runs the restaurant for his family makes everyone feel at home and like a regular. The service and food are always fantastic! Highly recommended!

Seriously, when did Lasagne not have either (preferably both) of meat or béchamel sauce? A tomato-based sauce poured over sheets of lasagne and a sprinkling of powdered parmesan does not constitute lasagne. And the meatballs tasted like 90% breadcrumbs - tasteless with the same bland tomatoey liquid. Perhaps they'd run out of beef? As for the service, being told to... More
