Walking inside feels like stepping into a cozy home on a small Greek island. Even in the dead of winter, you find an instant warmth. Great cocktails, including a drinks special - Fig Martini (many were had). Service was excellent. Food was 9/10, only one...of our entrees was not quite as delicious as the others - Baked Lamb. The rest of the food was excellent. The Mousakka was out of this world good.More

I went to this restaurant with my wife for my 6 year wedding anniversary. We showed up a half and hour early and they took us in no problem. We ordered the Oven Roasted Chicken and Arni Ravioli. The oven roasted chicken was nothing short...of Amazing! The Chicken tasted as better than my Greek Mother in laws version of the same dish. The Ravioli was excellent and the chese on the dish was very tasty. The place is very cozy and has a great ambiance with soft Greek music playing in the back. Very clean and excellent decor. IF you are looking for a great cozy place with excellent authentic Greek food this is the place for you. I have been here twice and cant wait to come back. 5 Star!!!!!More

Went back tonight after 8 years. The food was amazing! We had the beet salad, which even my son loved. I had the salmon in phyllo...unbelievable. We also ordered the lavraki which my husband loved and my son ate all the vegetables that accompanied the...fish. Our new favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.More

Best Greek food I've had in NYC. The Greek salad was amazing and the roast chicken with lemon potatoes was delicious. Very authentic. The servers were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Overall great experience.

Two of us had dinner on a Friday night. We started with 3 appetizers: a special fried cheese with tomato item (it was delicious), the Pikalia which is 6 spreads served with toasted pita bread, also delicious. The third dish was the homemade citrus infused...Greek sausage and it was fabulous. I had a glass of Greek red wine and it complemented the meal very well. For entrees, my wife had the softshell crabs and I the grilled shrimp. Both dishes were terrific and we really enjoyed the entire meal. The entire meal with drinks, appetizers, and entrees was $150 including tax. Service was helpful and quick throughout the meal.More

Traveled to Brooklyn to go to a different Greek Restaurant. Instead went to Elia's and thoroughly enjoyed dinner and Greek wine. I could not imagine the other place being any better. The food and service was outstanding.

My husband & I have been to Elia several times over the years and it is always "poli oreo" as the Greeks say. The last time was a bit embarrassing. Having talked the place up so much to my brother & sister in law imagine...my disappointment when upon seating my sister in law announces that "it smells like a port o potty." She was right. I don't know why - it never has before - it had been raining and the door was open but there was also an occasional strang noise emanating from behind a wall that may have been a pump of some kind. Perhaps they're having plumbing issues? I attributed it to that or an unfortunate choice of cleaning supplies for the bar area (as our table was next to the bar.) Either way, it somewhat tainted the experience. The food was amazing, as usual, with the exception of the dolmades which were very bland, everything was cooked to perfection. Everyone was extremely happy with the meal, and the smell was not noticeable after a bit but still, a fine restaurant should NEVER smell like a portable toilet...hopefully they will remedy this situation ASAP.More

Really great Greek food! Hummus platter was like art, had the lamb shank and probably the best I have ever had. Very nice wine list and very professional service. Must try if you are in Bay Ridge Brooklyn.

Went there on a Thursday night with 4 friends. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and they were delicious. Grilled octopus (sooo tender); Pikilia (excellent), Greek salad (very fresh). After the appetizers we were full, so I split an order of Mousaka with...a friend. It was more than enough but the Mousaka was a bit salty for my taste. The house wine was very good so we ordered 2 carafes for the table. The service was so-so. We ate indoors and there were 2 waiters for the tables. (It's a very small restaurant). One of the waiters was very nice - the other was quite surly. One friend ordered a side of potatoes that arrived at our table after we were finished eating - so we sent it back. It was on the bill but they removed it when we pointed out the error. The food is a bit pricey - our bill came to $80 per person - a total of $400 for 5 people. We didn't have any coffee or dessert. Not because we didn't want it, but there wasn't anything on the dessert menu that appealed to us. I might go back for appetizers and wine - but not dinner.More
