After patronizing Bar Tabac for well over 10 years as my go to neighborhood place, I went for dinner last nite ( with my wife) and sad to say we will not return. Despite understanding that their A team may be on vacation in Aug. the place was barely 1/3 full but the attention we received from our waiter was... More

A friend brought me here after work one night and I've been going there ever since. They make very tasty, thoughtful, visually appealing food with French flair. The quality is uniform, no matter what the hour, and the service is always impeccable. The staff makes you feel welcome and papered. The decor makes you remember or imagine a day in... More

Well the place itself was the first bar we visited in Brooklyn in late June 2016. There were a lot of people in there, so see,ed a good choice. It was actually cramped and my drink was in a dirty glass. My co-workers liked the atmosphere, but we passed on food after seeing what the table next to us was... More

In a turning, somewhat funky area of Brooklyn. Authentic French style bistro food. Fries stand out as especially authentic. Very small restaurant and not exactly what I would describe as elegant. Good selection of beers. We had a French waitress who was authentically arrogant and rude - just like Paris! Good if you are in area.

Great for Sunday brunch, always live music and daily specials. Good for groups and outdoor seating when weather permitted.

There are a lot of amazing food spots in New York, so if you are looking for a good French food spot, then l recommend going somewhere else. There is too much competition in this city for just mediocre food. The service was good and the ambience is great as well but the food is whatever unfortunately.

We went on a Wednesday night, as a group of 5 for dinner. The live band was playing awesome reggae music that made excellent entertainment either in the front of the restaurant or in the back where you could still hear but easier for conversations between the people in the group. Food was excellent - nicely presented and tasted great.... More

We walked and easily found it. We were quickly seated and offered beverages. We ordered Salmon Burger and Eggs with bacon, salad and potatoes. They were lovely as were the wines we ordered. Delicious. You felt like you were in France.

I was attending a trade show in Brooklyn and went to Bar Tabac at the invitation of a vendor who was hosting drinks and finger foods as a social event. The event was held in the back of the restaurant. The place was packed on a Monday night while many patrons were enjoying living music. The wine, beer and sodas... More
