We ate (4 people) outside. They offered soup and bread for appetizers, which hit the spot on a cool day. They brought out more bread with the entrees. I had the lamb, which fell off the bone as advertised and was tender, but not extremely...flavorful. The rice with vegetable sauce was a unique pairing that I enjoyed. The staff was friendly. The indoor restaurant has a good vibe of a family owned establishment.More

The food was good but the portion was smaller than the Bay Ridge Yemen Cafe. The 4% credit card surcharge is totally unacceptable. I was so angry I reduced the waiter's tip by an equivalent amount. If others follow me, you will lose your waiter....You have already lost me as a customer.More

Food had no taste and it was over priced for no reason. I actually hyped it up so much because it used to taste so much better and Im embarrassed now because it wasn’t what I expected

Get anything lamb. The meat falls off the bones and the stews are sooo flavorful! My girlfriends and I go here once every few months. The food is delicious and authentic. We love that they have tea after your meals for you. There aren't that...many Yemeni Restaurants around so we cherish this spot alot.More

Awesome food and excellent service. It has an authentic yemeni atmosphere. The ambience is rustic Yemeni and hence the food is also authentic. We tried their chicken Luboia out was excellent. Their lamb soup that they give complementary was a perfect food for this cold...wintery day. It is a very moderately priced with large dish sizes. Bread is free!More

Excellent food at affordable prices. You get free tea and bread with your meal. The place feels very authentic and I liked the diner vibe. I loved how well they spiced the food and how friendly everyone seemed, highly recommend and will be back!

We just arrived in Brooklyn and took a yellow cab to our hotel. The driver was from Bosnia, but was also a cook, and he was really enthusiastic about the menu and flavors of the Yemen Cafe, which is near our hotel. We took his...advice and went there for dinner, and really loved it!! They have a dozen different kinds of lamb- and I wish we could have tried them all- but we settled on the Lamb Haneeth, which they say is their most popular dish. Our taxi driver told us the servings were large, and this single serving fed both of us generously with some left over. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, and so flavorful, and was served with a larger serving of very flavorful long-grain basmati rice. It was a wonderful meal! And I should mention they bring you a bowl of lamb broth with a huge piece of fresh-baked bread when you sit down- that was a great way to start. And then for dessert we tried a special Yemini dish made of torn up bread, spices, honey and cream. It was delightful. It wasn't quite sweet enough for our taste, so we added a little sugar, but it was really special. And the Yemini iced tea was also very nice. It had a number of spices in it, such as cardamom, cinnamon and others, which made it very tasty. It was a great start to our New York visit, and we must might go back there again before we leave.More

Came here for lunch with my better half after she had told me about this place for so long and I could not have enjoyed it more. The food is delicious; the prices are very adequate and affordable; the quality of the food is amazing...and to wrap it up, Yemen Cafe is simply the real deal. Can’t wait to come back here on our next visit. Thank you!More

We loved it! Food was absolutely delicious and they kept it coming. Started with a free soup that had a little kick. Then the most amazing giant pizza size pita with crunch and pillow softness too. Had that with tasty baba ghanoush (eggplant spread) that...was the best I’ve had as I’m not usually a fan. The lamb dish with a tomatoey sauce was delectable and the most succulent ever. I stuffed myself! No ambience because it was PACKED! And most people were clearly Muslim and of Arab descent which tells you the food is authentic (also no booze so be aware). If you like ethnic food, go, you won’t be disappointed.More

This is a simple neighborhood cafe filled with locals. Upon being seated we were immediately served lamb (broth) soup and freshly baked naan-style bread. Both were excellent. We then had fassolia and lamb haneeth which was also excellent. The bread keeps coming throughout the meal...- fresh and hot. We left this restaurant having eaten way too much and wishing we could have eaten more.More

Mixed feelings about this place. It certainly looks authentic, and very popular among locals. Presentation is basic and food hearty. Probably too much rice, which becomes cold pretty soon. Some meat dishes were tasty and abundant, while others (like the chicken) were a bit dry...or with little meat attached to the bone (lamb). Maybe a bit pricey considered the whole package.More
