This is the third time I have visited Joya, but the first time that wasn't around dinner time. We arrived shortly after they opened. I ordered the Kang Gai. It was delicious and the serving size for the price was very reasonable for the serving size.

Great food but workers throw the pots in a bucket on the floor after cooking each dish. The loud sound is jarring and totally avoidable with a slight bend of the knees to place it down. Also I suggest knives be provided to cut our food. Otherwise delicious and the decor was nice.

We came here for dinner on Labor Day night. We sat in the garden and had an amazing meal. Service was perfect and plenty of food. The portions are large enough to share. We all loved the Pad Thai. The Mango sticky rice is not to be missed. We will be back.

When we arrived at Joya we waited for the hostess to finish taking an over the phone order, we waited for a few minutes then she without saying hello or welcome, asked us how many were in our party. When she brought us to the table she asked if the stroller I brought could be folded to which I looked around and many parents had their strollers unfolded, when I asked if this was necessary she replied snarly and was very rude to me. On Mother’s Day lol.
We Ordered vegetable spring rolls and fried calamari both dishes tasted like it was cooked in old oil. Horrific. And unexceptable. We’ve been ordering these exact dishes from this restaurant for over 15 years, never have I ever experienced the poor quality taste, when we spoke to the waitress she wasn’t trying to resolve the issue and simply stated they change the oil every morning and will continue to cook in the same oil everyday until closing. She explained she could bring us another order but it would taste the same because they weren’t cooking it in new oil. What kind of restaurant customer service is that? She basically told us they’re ok with serving their food no matter if it tasted old. I asked her to just cancel the order and ordered the woon sen, which I had one bite and the glass noodles weren’t even soft, hard and lacked taste
So beyond disgusted with how the food and especially how poor their customer service was today. It is Mother’s Day I came to celebrate with my child, nephew and sister. We’ve been loyal patrons for over 15 years going to song and later joya. We looked forward to coming here but unfortunately today was the last time I will be visiting

I live in the neighbourhood and have ordered takeout from Joya a few times over the past year, normally it passes for pretty good Thai food. However my most recent experience was not good and prompted me to write this review. First, the food. I ordered a stir fry and while eating it found 3 staples in the meal - there is no way they were from the takeout packaging, they had just fallen into the food and I had to spit them out. Second, the owner / guy who manages pickup orders wasn't wearing a mask despite it being State law to do so (this is something we had seen before). So overall, a very negative experience and will not be returning when there are other good options in the n'hood.

Joya is DANGEROUS place to eat. The back yard has a dead 4 stories tall tree that has fallen on our back yard. The neighbors has contacted the managers and owner multiple times and they have not address this dangerous issue.
Please do not eat in the back yard until the tree is cut down. My son and dog could have died from fallen tree. Please contact the restaurant to have them address its Danger.

The noise of pots and pans slamming in the restaurant was unbearable. In addition our food comes and something was unchewable in the spring rolls. Turned out to be paper. To top that the mojitos had 0 alcohol. Felt rushed and unprofessional. Would not return due to the nose level alone.

Location, atmosphere, service all very good and fast. But best of all the food is delicious. We sat outside on a beautiful late summer day and had a fabulous night before a concert. Will come again! Thank you for a wonderful dinner, the suggestions were right on the spot!

I have experienced a hate crime today I’m a black African American the owner of Joya James Glenn after he snapped his fingers, yelled at me not once but twice he pulled his mask down to tell me I said hurry up when I was the only person sitting indoor near the exit door I choose to get up and leave he said “ yes I’m f*^#k racist” he makes it seem as if I was the one who said something he repeated it, in reality, he said it out loud realized he had customers in the back this was disrespected, poor service for a place who has been such a success and great for the family to know the owner to stand to a customer's face and kick them out and to also say get the f@$&k out of here.

Good authentic Thai restaurant. The spicy chicken noodles was outstanding. Nice out door backyard seating. Highly recommend in downtown Brooklyn.

What a delightful, friendly, delicious restaurant with the sweetest outdoor backyard. The food was great, the service was really nice, and the prices could not be beat. Try this place!

I went to Joya for the first time week after co int back from a trip to Thailand and was really blown away by how authentic Joya’s dishes tasted after esting the real thing. joya always deliver very solid Thai culinary experiences at a very reasonable price. That probably explains why they have been in business for so long in an industry where most restaurants come and go.
Ps: only down side is restaurant is super loud so we tend to order in vs eating there but worth it anyway

A friend wanted to try this place so off we went. Busy Friday eve but we were immediately seated in the garden. Menu with something for everyone, on-point service, delicious food and pretty setting. Not easily impressed but here I was. They have cracked the code and perfected the formula. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back. ...

After reading reviews for the best Pad Thai in NY, I selected Joya from one of my top three picks. I live in Bklyn. I always prefer to support my community businesses but I was more than willing to travel anywhere for the best Pad Thai. So Joya it was. If you like dry Pad Thai without tamarind and palm sugar, and with over cooked tough shrimp. Joya is the restaurant for you. Note: this was take out or else I would have returned the food instead of placing it in the garbage. Almost forgot to mention the fish sauce was also omitted from the Pad Thai. I wonder who wrote those rave reviews? Bad...Bad...Thai.
