The best thing about Almar is its location. Right in the heart of Dumbo. Pleasant if moderately clueless wait staff. But the food was middle of the road. Corked, warm wine that has been sitting on the shelf for hours, days or maybe weeks. A romantic spot for those willing to spend on location but don't care about food. Don't... More

Best cappuccino and espresso in NYC. Stop by here occasionally before or after a meeting at a nearby project. Cash only sucks. They also serve lunch and dinner but never had it.

Happened upon this place in Brooklyn in desparation for a good Australian flat white, although you have to order a cappuccino to get a flat white. It had a great crema so you knew it was going to be great as soon as you saw it. Absolutely great and the food was delicious too. Plenty of room as well, which... More

Very good breakfast in a good atmosphere with great service. Tried the breakfast sandwich which was very good. Coffee was good but espresso was much better. Very efficient.

I went here twice on holiday, once with a friend for lunvh/drinks and by myself for a drink while waiting for the sun to set for views of NYC. Great staff and food. Cool spot, the staff were all dressed up for Halloween

High ceiling, not too busy, comfortable, peaceful place with smiling staff. They are so helping people. I love this place. Tried mocha and loved it! Pancakes are good too. They have high chair as well. The only handicap is; you must pay cash! Other then that, the place is awasome. Highly recommended!

Large tables may have you sharing with others, but you won't loose privacy Delicious and diverse offerings including hipster eggs, breads, fruits and yougerts. Good coffee and wait staff.

Great small restaurant. Rustic decor. The food is fresh and well presented. Decent wine selection. This is exactly the type of restaurant you want in your neighbourhood.

My boyfriend and I came in at the spurt of the moment for a nice meal. I was unsure of a particular course on the menu so I asked for assistance but the server replied me back as if I was an idiot. Then we were never checked upon the entire time. They tried to seat us where we declined... More

Our table ordered 3 appetizers, meatballs, crostini with ricotta and walnuts with honey, and baby octopus. I only had meatballs and crostini, and both were delicious. My husband and son really enjoyed the octopus . I ordered the lasagna-delicious. Husbands had cavitelli with seafood, he loved it. My son had rigatoni with sausage and said it was really good. I...
