This is a traditional thai cuisine place. They have all the dishes that a normal thai place would have, but better. This food is really going for the traditional approach with their food and the food is good. The noodles their are their specialty.
My second thai restaurant experience and first time in America so not much to compare to. The food is tasty and consistent though by American standards it could pass as rather smallish :) The service is excellent. We had a chicken papaya salad and a...golden curry chicken and a combo of starters. Not an abundance of infredients in the plate but I can't complain, it was delicious and I got stuffed. The thai ice tea is also a very interesting taste. The meal got both of us to 45 dollars plus tip.More
When I'm in the mood for Thai in Carroll Gardens, Ghang is where I turn.
I mostly get it delivery, but I've been to the restaurant and it is clean, ambient and pleasant as well.
The food is consistent and tasty.
I had never been here before, and was amazed at the amount of choice in the menu. We ordered spring rolls, rainbow salad, with clear noodles and chili/lime dressing, pad thai and the tamarind duck, which was sweet. The salad was large, and filling, the...pad thai was a bit mushy. Everything was well priced, including the wine and beer. They also served cocktails. I would return.More
You know sometimes you just get in the mood for something different. Not the kind of different that leads to trying something new all together but the type of different that is familiar but when prepared differently makes you feel as if your having an...all together new experience. I know that was a lot but I hope you get my point. I found that with Ghang Thai Kitchen.
I've enjoyed Thai food may times before but I was most impressed with my meal. The service was prompt and attentive. The honey ginger Martini will make you run in circles it's so smooth. I image most of their drinks are the bomb.
Now, as for the food, I had the Brooklyn Basil for my entree and my partner had one of their signature fried rice dishes. Truly, we both barely looked at each other during the meal because the flavor and spice left us speechless!! We also had their Thai dumplings. The food and appetizers we had should receive an A++ . I really believe both our meals were rather exceptional. My partner usually likes spicy and I do not but that night, I decided to go spicy and it made my dining experience phenomenal. I must try Ghang Thai Kitchen again real soon!!More
We used to really enjoy this restaurant, but recently have had mediocre meals and poor service. The dishes are hit or miss. There was only one couple in the place besides us, and we waited a long time for the food. Dishes were brought out...sporadically, so we couldn't eat at the same time. Wont be going back.
Joya is just a few blocks away-really noisy, but consistently good food.More
Razor thin slivers of chicken, about 6 to 8 teensy-weensy slivers, no larger than an inch, lots and lots of stir-fried onions, scallions, carrots, about 2 cashew nuts on the wok chicken with cashew special, sigh . . . really Disappointing!
GHANG THAI has a hip vibe and is decorated in a simple but modernish style. The dark interior reminded me a lot of JOYA, a block away, although Ghang Thai is smaller.
I had the lunch special for $7.00: Choice of soup or salad, appetizer...and main course. I had the spring roll (you get only one), vegetable soup, and Thai sweet & sour chicken (with rice included).
The soup and spring roll were fine. My main course was very generous in portion and I was barely able to finish everything. My chicken was good but not great: A bit too salty and the sauce not as tangy as I like in Thai sweet & sour dishes.
After exiting, I noticed a sign in the window announcing that all beer was $3.00 before 7 pm. If I’d noticed it going in, I’d have had a bottle of Singha instead my two dollar Diet Coke.More
My son and I were blown away by this hidden gem . The decor is very sleek and elegant .A soft waterfall falls into a pool at the entrance , next to a bar . The food was tasty and beautifully prepared . The service...was attentive . We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees for 35 plus tax . Most drinks were around 10 however , which would have added up quickly . We would definitely go back !More
