I have eaten Nigerian food in and out of Nigeria and after reading the reviews I decided to try this restaurant to satisfy my craving for Naija food. i ordered take out - beef suya, goat pepper soup, grilled fish, fish in 'red sauce' bitter leaf soup etc. The pounded yam was excellent and the bitter leaf just average. Both... More

I was excited to see the range of Nigerian dishes on the menu but the egusi soup that I looked forward to eating was all pepper. I know that many Nigerians love pepper but I think in order to appeal to the diverse palates in the neighbourhood and visiting the city mild, medium and hot choices could be offered. Also... More

I visited with my sister and friend while in New York a few weeks ago. The service was a bit slow, but all in all we had no problems with the food. However, our experience was marred by the customer service. One of the servers (Yetunde) did not take the time to explain the menu clearly, so that there was... More

The food was amazing, the Igbini(large pepper snail) was top notch. The service was awesome. I got fufu and palava sauce and that took me back to the motherland.

I traveled here with a Nigerian companion from uptown because it was supposed to have some of the best Nigerian food in the city. Arrived on a Saturday evening and there were no other dinner patrons, just a few folks at the bar and the scene was more party/lounge than restaurant. The restaurant side was so dark we had to... I absolutely love this place. Been here 3 times and enjoyed each time. Service was okay. Food was delish! I must say that I have only tried pounded yam and amala with either egusi soup. So I am sure of that :)

Pro: the food is good (except for that white yam). The food came out pretty fast (we were expecting it to be slow according to previous reviews) Not crowded Con: Sticky floors The waitress seemed slow They didn't have steak knives for my steak The environment was chilly (no heat) After we were seated, the waitress took a while to... Went to Buka in Brooklyn. Great food great taste. The head chef Lukemon is very welcoming. Check the Iyan and egusi with snails makes you feel home sick. Is you haven't ventured past the bridge. The waiter is always smiling Hausa guy. A bit quite on Mondays but from Wednesday onwards it's like a party here. Get the C train... More

So here's the deal. I'm all up for trying new places and when my friend mentioned about trying this cool nigerian restaurant in Brooklyn I was looking forward to it. (well, not entirely since I'm a vegetarian and I know the options were slim for me). I get to the restaurant and my friends where already seated waiting for me.... More

The food did taste nice, not a good as you would get back in Nigeria but quite nice. The pounded yam and egusi soup come highly recommended, the palm wine was worth it. Would have been nice to have some nigerian music playing at the background though.
