One of the better places to eat in Fairbanks , even if it is in a hotel. Very diverse selection of wines and menu.

The salmon is good, should try it if you are fish lover. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good, always full house and worthwhile to stop there to have a full meal before going to see the Northern light !
Lavelle's Bistro was recommended to us and we are glad we went. Had a few minutes wait for a table but we had a fun waitress who didn't rush us and helped us make choices. Good food, good service and good environment.
My husband Chris and I (Nancy) arrived Saturday evening after being on a plane all day. We had just checked into the Marriott and asked where to eat.. they told us down the hall is Lavalle's... We came in for dinner and were told there was about an hour wait...but if we wanted to sit at the bar there were... More
We unfortunately had time only for some appetizers before heading out. The ambiance, the food and the waitstaff all were excellent. We had heard wonderful things about this restaurant from people who live in Fairbanks, and we weren't disappointed. When we go back to Alaska we will definitely stop there for a full meal.
Great menu and a good atmosphere, but have been hit or miss on the food. The vast majority of the time the food has been outstanding, but sometimes they just miss the mark. Still one of the best meals in Fairbanks. I'll keep going back.
This is a lovely restaurant in the only hotel in town worth staying!!! This is a restaurant frequented by locals as well. They have an incredible scotch and bourbon selection not to mention other liquor. The food is very good and the service is prompt. It is a relaxing décor.
Thank you! In a town with more than 200 restaurants, saying we're the only place to eat in town is high praise. We're very proud of our drinks selection and add to it frequently. Our wine selection is so vast we've won awards for it - Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence every year since 2012! In addition to... More
We were staying in the Marriott so decided it was an easy option for our first night which was a Saturday. The only place they could put us was the bar, but that was fine. The menu has some pricey options, but we managed to find something on it more to our budget and were very happy with our choices.
We didn't but we waited out a seat at the bar. Glad we did. Started with a cup of soup and dang was it good. Friend had a really yummy salad. Then the entrees, they know what they are doing. The pork chop was tasty and my chicken with mushrooms was perfect. Staff was fun, and menu had a lot... More

I have not been to Lavelle's yet and was wondering how the gluten free meals are and if anyone has had them. Thanks in advance.
Hi: My apologies for your less than desirable experience at Lavelle's. Good service is critical to a great dining experience and it seems one of our staff needs additional training. If you happen to still have your receipt if you would be kind enough to send me the date and check number I will be able to take suitable action. As for trying to control the temperature in the restaurant, it's an ongoing battle with outside temperatures dipping into the negative 0 range and the restaurant going from empty to packed in the course of 30 minutes. It's not like we can just open the outside doors or turn on the air conditioner. I'm only regretful that you didn't ask for a manager when you were disappointed with the food and service and temperature. He would have done anything he could have to make your visit an enjoyable one. I hope you come back and try us again when it's not such a crazy time of year and hopefully before another seven years has past.
