We drove out in the area to tour the Poker Flat Research Range. So we stopped here for lunch. This is a really neat place. The food is fabulous, everyone was really friendly. The Dredge Burger is Awesome as is the Fish & Chips. Make sure you look around the inside for all the unique trappings.

Excellent food and great environment. The portions are very generous and you can tell the cook loves to eat. Nice drive to the lodge and very Alaskan.

I loved this place and I don't really have the words to express how at home I felt every time we would go here to eat. We visited Chatanika Lodge many times during our 3 years of living in Fairbanks/North Pole. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. The decor is rustic and eclectic with a lot of Christmas themed items.... More

So, since the Salchaket Roadhouse closed down we tried heading North for a weekend get out of town road trip and stopped at the Chatanika Lodge. Dark, low ceilings and Bar in the Dinning room. Grill off in the corner. Standard American fare, no frills lunch. Was ok..........nothing to write home about.........served a purpose, but wished the Salchaket Roadhouse were... More

We did not dine here (though we heard the food is good), just stopped by for a drink one evening on our way to see the northern lights up Steese Hwy - this place is so unique/eclectic/funky, friendly and fun. Take time to wander around and look at all the stuff hanging from walls and ceilings! Wish we'd had more... More

If you want Alaska go here! Rural, picturesque, and lovely drive from Fairbanks. Food not over the top but you will have an enjoyable time.

Went to Chatanika Lodge on a suggestion from a local in Fairbanks. Went to see the Northern Lights but it was not our night for that. Owners, server, customers were all very friendly and welcoming, they made our night a success even though we are still chasing the elusive Northern Lights.

Definitely never a dull moment. The place is awesome inside, the pictures really don't do it justice. The food is great. The Cesar salad is really good. And the burgers are amazing. Shirley and Ron, it was a pleasure meeting y'all! I will be back (especially since I never saw the lights while up there)!

Chatanika Lodge is a very unique place. The owners are friendly, inviting, and very accommodating. The food is excellent in my opinion, being from Texas, it is flavored with all the right ingredients that I like. There are enough things to see both inside and outside that will surely get your attention. If you can get the owner to sit... More

I am seeing some old reviews for this establishment, and the spelling on the old reviews is incorrect. The correct spelling is Chatanika, [not "Chatinika"]. I was wondering why nothing came up when I searched for ChatAnika, and then I realized why. I would like to post a positive review for the restaurant and the owners, but I think it would be helpful to have the correct spelling entered first so people who are searching for it can find it. Thank you.
