We recently moved to Fredericksburg, and we wanted some Thai food last night. After seeing Bangkok Cafe as a top choice here on TA, we decided to give it a shot. I ordered quite a few dishes and appetizers to really check it out (and to have some leftovers for today), and every one of the items was absolutely amazing. My wife had to tell me to stop making noises as I tried each one, but it was just a natural reaction to let out the "Mmmmmm!!!" We had drunken noodles, massaman curry, pad thai, combination fried rice, dumplings, gyoza, fried shimp, and curry puffs. Thanks for the delicious food, about to go enjoy these leftovers and we'll be ordering again soon!

we stopped for a light lunch at one of the few open restaurants on New Year's Day. the family was very welcoming, service was fast and we all enjoyed our selections. very reasonable price for fresh authentic Thai

Been coming here for 20+ years. Never disappointed!!! The food is excellent, generous portions and great prices. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommended it if you’re in the fredericksburg area.

I started getting take away from Bangkok Café 15+ years ago. My two sons liked it & it was moderately priced & very fast. After moving out of town, I had not visited in a long time. Just before Christmas, I was shopping in downtown Frederickburg about 5p & drove past the restaurant & decided to walk in & order 3 dinners & 3 desserts to go. The 3 meals were our favorites from years ago & we always ordered the same sticky rice. I was seated & while waiting I ordered a Miller Lite. The order came out before I had half finished the beer & I was given the ticket. I was surprised to see the total was $68.00 & some change. Although it was during the time when other establishments offer Happy Hour, that Miller Lite was $5.00. I have frequented many restaurants during Happy Hours, usually 4p to 7p...& have never paid $5.00 for a bottle of domestic beer. I imagine a glass of wine must have been $8 or $10.00. $68.00 for 3 take away dinners & 3 rice desserts was ridiculous...a $5.00 beer was a surprise for this area during HH. I asked the waitress if this could be right & she brought me the menu to assure me the bill was correct. Beef Pad Thai, my favorite, had gone up to $16.95...as had the 2 other meals which were chicken dishes... & once were the least expensive on the menu: both $16.95. I took the dinners home & was disappointed with the Beef Pad Thai. The pieces of meat were grisly & tough. The family said the chicken was rubbery.
I’m sure that restaurants are struggling to stay open with only to go orders, but to raise their prices as well as compromise on quality, is enough for me to say I’ll never go back there. All 3 of our meals were sub par & way over priced for a small town like Frederickburg. I’m very disappointed.

We stopped by for lunch with the Vegetarian Pad Thai and the Chicken Pad Thai. What a wonderful surprise to find this gem with its offerings. The food was great and relatively inexpensive for the meal.

My husband does not like to try new restaurants, but last week we did. We love Thai food and our favorite places are in Northern Virginia, a long way to go for dinner. Stopped by this restaurant and we were glad we did. My husband has some dietary restrictions and they had no problem with modifying/customizing everything he ordered (Tom Yum soup and a couple of other items). All of our food was tasty and fresh. The spring rolls were not even oily! Wish we had found this place a long time ago!

I recently went for a quiet dinner with wife and daughter. Restaurant has daily appetizer specials that allowed us to try some new things (jacketed shrimp and fried tofu). I am a big fan of the Panang curry (mild), my wife loves the Pad Thai, and daughter normally gets crab rolls and Tom Yum soup. Food came out quickly and was delicious. There appears to be a number of “regulars” but the place was not crowded on a Sunday evening.

1st time here. Quiet polite staff. Sat at table by window. Food came out quickly and wonderful presentation. Pad thai could have been a little more spicy but lots of meat and great flavors. Popular place

We enjoyed wonderful service here and two (2) deeeeeelicious entrees ( The Chef’s Special ~ Pineapple Fried Rice with a large quantity of different tastes ) and Their Pad Thai with Shrimp accompanied by a Singh’s Premium Import Lager Thai Beer . The appetizer we had was a plate of Crab Rolls which were OK ~ would not order these again.
Location = right in the middle of Old Town for 36 years !!!!! Awesome Tastes ! Already want to return .......

This is a Thai restaurant that our "Thairish" friend likes. It is one of a few Thai restaurants in the area that could only be better if they were in Thailand. We often stop by for lunch after church on Sunday. If you like your Thai food really hot, it will probably take more than one visit to convince them that you can handle it. No one likes to waste food, so they will err on the side of safety to avoid having to throw a dish out. But, even if they do not make it as hot as you'd like, the taste of the food stands on its own. I'm particularly fond of their Basil Beef and Drunken noodles.

This was a surprise for us. I am quite familiar with Thai food and did not expect to find good Thai in a place like Fredericksburg not know for its cosmopolitan environment.
It was a terrific treat. Try the basil fish. About $38 but well worth it. The Pad Thai was also quite decent.

My daughter and I had lunch here. It was wonderful. Great service. Pad Thai & Ginger Chicken were amazing - we will definitely come back when in town.
