We come here every few months and have never been disappointed. Menu changes quarterly based on local available meats/veggie etc. Definitely worth trying!

I took my mother here for lunch and we both enjoyed it. The food was good and the service was adequate. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Downtown Fredericksburg. Parking might be an issue.

This restaurant is a gem in downtown Fredricksburg. Highly recommend it for all occasions. The food was excellent--the quality is comparable to top restaurants in big cities like Washington DC, but at a more reasonable price. The restaurant's setting is relaxed and elegant, and the service is outstanding. The food is new American cuisine, with an emphasis on quality ingredients... More

We arrived about 1 p.m. on a Friday afternoon. Busy, but we were seated almost immediately. Waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable. Nancy order a glass of wine and I ordered an Old Fashion with Bowmans Brothers Rye. Great drinks and very reasonably priced. Nancy selected the arugula salad and a personal sized pepperoni pizza. I just had to try the... More

A couple of times a year we trek from Slow Country to New York. A transition that always calls for a recuperative stop. We discovered more than a few years ago that Fredericksburg was just about midway between start and end. And discovered Bistro Bethem as well. Always striking food and friendly service. So, it’s no surprise that we planned... More

The menu changes weekly and depending upon your preferences it could easily be a home run. The wines by the glass are good and interesting and the service at the bar is very good. The Octopus-spiked risotto under a piece of Halibut was nothing short of amazing while other dishes were very good and sometimes equally creative..

Have eaten here several times, and although the food is fine the lunch portions fall on the slight side. I recently had the turkey and brie sandwich accompanied by a skimpy serving of house-made potato chips and I left still hungry. On the other hand, their duck dinner is quite satisfying both in flavor and quantity. It was also cooked... More

Sloppy, cluttered, dirty and over priced for the quality. Very disappointed a nice space that has been ruined by poor design and poorly hung art. The chairs at our table were falling apart as was most of the restaurant.

I ordered a medium well cooked gourmet burger for $16.00 First of all it was tiny, and cooked rare! It was as dry as a bone, served with cold shoe string potatoes. That it! Of course I barely ate it. My husband got the salmon for $25.00, which was also tiny. It was very dry as well, served with refried... More

My wife and I have been dining at Bistro Bethem for the past 4 years. We love the atmosphere and fresh, creative entrees. We started off with some large, fresh Long Island blue point oysters on the half shell and Pei mussels. We both had the soft shell crab special on a bed of creamy grits with an old bay... More
