I work in the area and stop in probably once a month. As stated before there are lots of chicken choices, but hey, who doesnt like chicken ! The spicy chicken sauteed with fresh jalapeno slices is fantastic. Food is plentiful and always fresh.

I use the take-out option, and have had over 6 meals each of a different dish. I have not had a dish I didn't like. Highly recommend.

Went here because after the last couple of times at Lin’s Gourmet I came to the realization that, after going there for 25 years, they haven’t put a dime in the upkeep of the restaurant itself and wanted to try somewhere new. However, I was pretty disappointed in this place, it’s no better than Lin’s and maybe not as good. The place was dingy and the bathroom was disgusting. You can tell a lot about a place when you visit the bathroom, they don’t keep that clean, well chances are the kitchen isn’t either.
The majority of the food was not hot enough and chicken, holy mackerel, there’s chicken galore and not much more. I read in another review about them with the chicken, but goodnight, how much can you do with chicken. Chicken on a stick, BBQ chicken, sesame chicken, hot pepper chicken, Kung Pau chicken (which I always thought was made with pork) General Tso’s chicken, chicken egg roll (again, should be pork)etc...etc... Needless to say I won’t be going back here, probably back to Lin’s but hoping to try somewhere else before then

It was decades ago now that I first visited (this) Golden China, before the plaza around it grew up and other eateries became so numerous, and I'm delighted to report that the food is still very good! Golden China is an unassuming place, quite plain outside and in, even frankly short on atmosphere, only the buffet has everything one wants to see and one may order off the menu if she prefers. I ate there 2 nights in a row, and from the people picking up takeout orders and eating in I got the impression that the place is sustained by locals who know it to be reliable and tasty. In particular the hot sour soup, General Tso's chicken, bbq chicken, sesame chicken, noodles, mushrooms, and green beans were all good, and I might have tried several beef dishes and shrimp. Those dishes I didn't try others enjoyed in quantity! And as a final plus, if you drink water the dinner buffet will cost $11, tax included.

the best is their dessert tray, a lovely light assortment, with
mini eclairs dipped in chocolate... a great stop in Fredericksburg....

They have the best fresh hot mustard and good duck. Their food is average to below average of some other places, but they deliver so it’s convenient.

Ok so no beef on the buffet. Shrimp ,fried scallops and poached fish and baked mussels seafood options. The rest of the items were chicken based. Standard fare, not exceptional but if you like Chinese buffets you shouldn't be disappointed. I did think their hot and sour soup was very good. The menu order was large ang generous with more than enough to feed two with leftovers.

A Chinese buffet for $8.95, what’s not to like. Exceedingly friendly and efficient service, glasses filled as soon as they were half emptied. The variety of dishes was good, all were hot and tasty, and were being replenished as soon as they were chosen by diners. If you accept that this is not fine Asian dining, you could do much worse than to try Golden China.

this restaurant is opposite the Holiday Inn Express and is a very short walk from the hotel. All the usual items are on the menu but I chose the buffet. There were 2 soups, egg rolls, wontons and your basic chinese items. The food was not too salty. Small amounts of food were set out and as the particular item would run low it was replaced with more hot food - it didn't sit too long. The price was very affordable. I did not take a desert but there was a double row of choices. A good bargin and tasty.

Good atmosphere with a wide range of choices on the buffet - shrimp in butter sauce, general Tao's chicken, BBQ chicken, Chicken with Broccoli, Hot & Sour, Egg Drop and Wonton Soups, Beef w Mushroom, A1 steak, were just some of the choices on the Buffet. Very reasonably price at $.95 for the evening buffet.

The hotel we were staying at didn't have the menu for this restaurant so I couldn't call ahead but when I got there(right across the street from hotel) I placed my order to go and it was fast. They even had a packet of spoon & fork with napkins for hotel stayers. Food was good, soup and spare ribs. Can't wait for our next trip to eat there again.

We stopped in for lunch today because my husband had called them to see what kind of shrimp with lobster sauce they had. Yes there are 2 forms of this, a dark sauce normally found in the Boston area or a white sauce found farther south. My husband prefers the white sauce. He was told that they had the white or egg based sauce. When we got there it was not on the menu. He was told it was only available for take out. They get high marks for ridiculous. They did not offer to give him what he wanted. We ate from the buffet which pretty much was cold and awful. Glad we don't live in Fredericksburg although it is lovely here cause we would have to cross this off our list of places to go. Their attitude was worse than their food and that is not good. Find another place for Chinese food.
