This is our favorite family special celebration restaurant go to in Fredericksburg The food is always amazing and the size of the meals are enough to share The staff are amazing too The only thing I would recommend is making reservations in advance to get the night and time you want

Excellent atmosphere. Unbelievable Food. Delightful Service. Definitely a Must Stop for travelers and locals alike. You will not be disappointed. Come hungry...you will leave over full. You will find yourself planning your next visit and discussing whom you want to bring.

Food is so good and very filling especially the pork chops or sausage plates. Deaserts are Delilah - love the apple pie one. This place is great for couples and/ or families and special occasions. Waitresses in costume. Make reservations or there will be a long wait.

Took a friend to celebrated their completion of PHD. My wife and I had the grilled pork chops. These were excellent. I would also recommend the dish with the variety of sausage. Their appetizer pretzel is excellent. Vegetables are served family style. This allows you to enjoy the full variety. This is our second time here celebrating with friends. This... More

My family and I go to Bavarian Chef for all our special occasions. Originally from Germany, we love German food and know what it should taste like. Portions are large and delicious. We usually over indulge with an appetizer, beer, entree and dessert and coffee.

Went on a Thursday at 2:45pm with my husband and children; 9 and 3 yr old. Parking took a bit; they have some parking on the street, to the east and west sides of the building. Restaurant is nicely repurposed space originally a train station circa 1910. Loved the space! Nicely maintained and tastefully appointed and furnished. Sweet German posters... More

Went with another couple to participate in Fredericksburg's "Restaurant Week." We had others go to this restaurant and rave about the food, so we thought we'd give it a shot. While it was OK, some dishes were disappointing. Upon entering we noticed it was already crowded - at 6 p.m. on a Thursday. Would definitely recommend reservations if you are... More

The food is good, the service is excellent. However the prices are on the steep side. I do not think I will return based on the idea of paying a lot of money for a schnitzel. The sides are served family style which is a plus, but we didn't really come for the sides. I would recommend the place if... More

Came for the great prices during restaurant week, but this place blew us away. Incredible beef shanks with spicy slaw for appetizer. Chicken schnitzel and beef skewers for main course with 4 bottomless sides. So much food and everything tasted amazing! Couldn't order more veggies or desserts because there was no room. Incredible meal. One of best I've ever had.

My first visit and I like the way they do the family style thing. This was really good German food. Very festive atmosphere. Friendly service. Didn't feel rushed. A little bit of Germany right by the train station in Fredericksburg. Can't hear the trains at all. Haven't had a chance to get back but would definitely go again and recommend... More
