I met a friend here for a drink on a Monday and was pleasantly surprised to find free oysters from 5 to 7 on Monday night. They were really good and the place was packed. Bartenders are very attentive and friendly and loved the overall beer selection. I would definitely come back here again.

Matt Murphy's Pub is a casual place with delicious gourmet food. Not your typical pub food. My grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and bacon was cooked perfectly on homemade bread. My husband had a juicy grilled chicken sandwich with fries and homemade ketchup. Service was friendly and attentive. We were there several years ago for an amazing Sunday brunch and... More

Stopped by with family last Saturday evening. Great atmosphere, friendly/prompt service. My wife and I had the Fish (Cod) & Chips entree which was great! Served in newspaper, the fish was cooked perfectly and the combo sweet potato & potato fries were crisp and tasty. This is a "Cash Only" pub.

Absolutely loved my visit to Matt Murphys. I was recently in Boston on holiday and I ventured to Brookline to meet a friend. She me to meet her here and I was greeted with a warm cozy and friendly atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and inviting and very attentive. I had a gorgeous Vodka gimlet to start - so tasty... Food was good, decent offerings on the menu. Place looks like a pub, but was not crazy on a Sunday night with people drinking. I went with my 16 year old daughter for dinner at 8 and it was calm. The place is really dark though. We actually thought is was closed, but then we saw people inside. Hard to... More

Matt Murphy's is a semi-Irish pub serving semi-Irish, semi-gourmet food. The people are nice and welcoming, and the prices, if not cheap, are certainly not elevated. The 5-7 Monday free oyster special is a winner, and can draw crowds when the weather's decent; in bad weather, the place is deserted, because it's well-nigh impossible to park in Brookline Village these... My family and I stopped here for lunch. When we walked in the Pub was fairly empty. There was only one waiter who also acted as the bar tender and the bus person. We placed our order and waited and waited and waited. Food was served sporacticly. Although the food was tasty not one of my party of 9 ate... More

Great spot for a drink and a bite. Small place, but cozy. Decent-sized bar. And good amount of tables. The food is mostly Irish, but with a little but of a twist. Shrimp sliders were awesome. And the shepherd's pie was really good too. Our server was the man, made a great experience. And trivia night on a Wednesday made... More

We came at dinnertime on a Monday evening (when from 5-7 pm oysters are free to folks sitting at the bar) and were very lucky to be seated at the bar (to say Murphy's is 'busy' on Monday evenings is a gross understatement!) and somehow, despite the sheer volume and crush of customers, they quickly deliver surprisingly generous portions of...
